Poor gates, shared money, food and drink takings and possible winnings... Better than nothing!!

And possible wage bill. :fie:

I think if any of the BOD are reading this or anybody who knows BOD members of the 3 Cumbrian clubs talk to them.

This Idea should be seriously looked at and discussed. Strike while the iron is hot!

A Cumbria Cup pre season is a win win for the clubs, fans, sponsors etc.

If we can get a big money Sponsor to cover some of the costs it should draw some well deserved media coverage throughout the County and RL in general.

In saying that, if there is no NR cup then pre-season training won't have to start until after Christmas but then there will be no Christmas friendlys and so on...

Most clubs pay a modest salary plus money for playing a game.

I'd imagine yours is the same.

But if not, cut the salary down. Don't start preseason so early.

In any case, in 2012 we played 18 league games, 4 NR group games plus whatever Cup ties came along.

In 2013, we played 26 league games plus Cup ties.

What's to complain about ?

Not at all.  I'm just saying there is one.

Players don't play for nowt.  Nor should they be expected to.
