That has always been the case,can rember in my playing days ,the likes of harold studley,brian wassell,barry hogg,jim hewitt,gordon westwood just to name a few,they were some of the top amatuer internationals in the area who would not step up for any amount of monies?

Can only hope when the final team steps out at Craven Park, amateur signings can prove their worth once the results go our way. Rugby League in general is going through turmoil, our division can hopefully attract some talent scouts like the old days. Murray I hope will allow some players be individual and not do it the previous coach's way. Public schoolboy mentality was in the Union game. Previous post was right in saying the right enviroment will bring out brilliance and what player does not like a challenge on the pitch.

I thought Max got better as the season progressed and by the end looked a much better centre

Max IMO started slowly and the coach stuck with him when at times others were being dropped...
He improved as the season went on and His confidence was developing each and every game toward the end of the season.
A good signing and hope this continues.
A negative mind will never give a positive life....... ;-)
