How could he miss a sitter like that one?

Gotta say that France defended well.

Great second half and although the kick was missed, I thought France deserved it overall.

France were so poor in that second half, can't believe they got the win.

It's alright this rugby league, isn't it.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Fantastic game!! Absolutely fantastic!

France could be on course for a great World Cup now!! Two points on the board, then it's NZ in front of a sold out 18,000 in Avignon, followed by Samoa in Perpignan. NZ and Samoa could be rattled with the French on home soil.

Well done France.

Very tense game. I really enjoyed watching that. I am glad France won. I thought Thomas Bosch played an important role in the French win.

Dramatic.

Thought Mead looked great returning the ball...

Quite a few PNG shirts in the crowd today; the locals have taken to them.

It's blowing a gale which might not help.

Speaking as somebody who was in the ground, the wind meant that kick was nowhere near as straightforward as it might have looked on TV.

The bloke sitting next to me had come all the way from Sydney to watch the tournament. One of the first things he asked was 'Is it always this windy here?'.

Great game, could've gone either way. I felt sorry for PNG as I thought overall they were the more powerful and explosive team, however France had the skill and their decision making from the likes of Bosc and Barthau were better.

Also, I thinks it's great for the Super League because France wouldn't have won if Catalans hadn't entered the professional comp. I don't expect them to beat either NZ or Samoa after today's games though.

Yeh I asked this in the ticket sales thread. Warrington can sell-out 15,000 but Hull can't sell-out 10,000 :S

Still shows that whilst the RLIF, the RFL, city and county councils, broadcasters, sponsors and national bodies have been working together for the good of the game, Super League clubs still can't be assed.

If Rochdale Hornets can do it, why can't Hull FC and Hull KR??

Anyway France really really really really need to win this match. They completely choked in 2008, they choked in the 4 Nations qualifier v Wales IN THEIR OWN BACKYARD. If they don't win this they could really struggle to keep of the bottom of Group B.

Cant beat a bit of good RL negativity with everything going well..

I reckon todays game should give the two other Hull games a good sales boost - was a good atmosphere and good game reckon most will be back for more.

I suspect the games in Hull will be unique in that most of the crowd will literally be from Hull. I suspect the same cant be said for many of the other games further west on the M62 corridor

France's win sets up things nicely for Avignon. I wonder if they can pull off a shock win over the Kiwis? That would really set the tournament alight. The Kiwis must be pretty bruised after that Samoa game
