Tonights Chron

OLDHAM RL has warded off the latest move by the taxman to have the club wound up.

A winding-up petition sought by HMRC was dismissed at London’s High Court yesterday, which followed a stay of execution last month in which the club was given 21 days to pay off its £10,000 bill...

Lawyers for the tax authorities reeturned to court to formally dismiss the petition. The club was ordered to pay costs.

The club faced three similar petitions in 2010, all of them also settled in full.

No Wonder there is no money to repair the showers ........ :rtfm:

Its CH's Club ........He should ensure the tax is paid by HIS CLUB, just like you HAVE to pay YOUR OWN TAX . . . . and indeed YOU have to pay to have your own shower fixed .........If YOUY want to help the Club .....Pay its Tax Bill on TIME yourself or better still PAY to have the showers fixed . . . ALL OUT OF YOUR OWN POCKET . . . . thats the very best way YOU can help Mr. Hamiltons Club...... can you come and fix my leaky tap whilst your at it . . . . and those at Boundary Park , and at Manour Park , and at every other soprts club in Oldham ,. . .  oh sorry they all do Pay for it themselves dont they ask , Waterhead, Saddleworth and St Annes ..... :help:

All the supporters who watch the matches, buy the programmes, the snacks, buy drinks help the club, who sponsor or are in the lottery  being some or all of these who help the club.

It is from this income that the clubs expenditure is met and from which the taxes are calculated.

The fact that the bills and taxes are not paid on time is not the fault of the fans but his the responsibility of the management to see they are paid.

The Oldham Chronicle does not need to mention any ones name as it his a report about the club itself. Most if not all the sports minded people in Oldham know who manages the towns Rugby League club.

It his just a factual report.

As to what the how the fans  can help rather than anti Hamilton bashing they have by doing what my first paragraph says.

Any organisation that is VAT  registered and has employees and who operate a PAYE scheme who does not ring fence its due taxes to ensure that monies are in place to pay the bill when due are spending money that does not belong to them and which they have no right to spend.

The fact that they do is  of no fault of those fans. For anyone to ask fans to help by giving donating money to help paying the accrued tax has not thought the thing through.

WE might as well ask the Council to double our taxes on the basis that the town we live in needs more money

Of course its not rocket science...  the number of clubs that have gone under over the years would suggest that it's harder!

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!
