Extraordinary ways to capitalise on World Cup fever

The RFL has launched a new website for members of the public and a series of workshops for community clubs that will enable them to capitalise on the surge in interest in the sport created by Rugby League World Cup 2013.
Record numbers of people will get their first taste of Rugby League during the five-week tournament, which is already raising the sport's profile to new heights, and the workshops will help clubs harness that interest to keep people involved.
The website, www.extraordinaryrugby.com, details how people can become involved in the sport in a wide range of capacities, including player, match official, coach or supporter.
Starting on Wednesday October 30 a 'How to grow your club' workshop will be run across a number of venues for a two-week period.
Held in conjunction with the Sports Marketing Network, the course will also provide support and ideas to help grow the club long after the tournament ends.
Everyone who attends will be given a free resource and the opportunity to order free personalised posters and banners to help promote their club.
The workshops will last for approximately two and half hours and are free to attend; however, space will be limited.

To book your place e-mail vicky.turner@rfl.uk.com and include your name, contact number, club and which workshop you wish to attend.

Course dates:
Wednesday October 30 – York Acorn, 7.00pm
Monday November 4 – Chorley Panthers, 7.00pm
Tuesday 5 – Thatto Heath Crusaders, 6.30pm
Wednesday 6 – Hindley, 6.30pm
Thursday 7 – Shaw Cross Sharks, 7.00pm
Monday 11 – Barrow Island, 6.30pm
Tuesday 12 – Maryport, 6.30pm
Wednesday 13 – The Octagon, Hull, 7.00pm

Very good, shows that is some depth of thinking around the wc beyond the games themselves
PROUD TO BE A MEMBER OF http://www.rugbyleaguecares.org/ and http://www.walesrugb...-wales-for-2013
Predictions for the future -
Crusaders RL to get a franchise for 2012 onwards -WRONG
Widnes Vikings also to get a franchise - RIGHT
Crusaders RL to do the double over Widnes and finish five places ahead of them -WRONG
Widnes Vikings NOT to dominate rugby league in years to come! STILL TO COME

I promise to pay 10 to the charity of Bomb Jacks choice if Widnes Millionaires finish above the battling underdogs Crusaders RL. I OWE A TENNER!
