I have had the immense pleasure of watching all the games played so far, and after the USA v Cook Islands I was contemplating on all of the matches and the players involved, it got me thinking who had really impressed me and given me pleasure in watching, this then transpired to if I could pick my team from 1 to 13 played so far what would it be:

This would be my personnel Dream Team from Round One, What would yours be?

1. Russell (Scotland)

2. Mantellato (Italy)

3. Whare (N.Z.)

4. Guerra (Italy)

5. Uate (Fiji)

6. Paulo (USA)

7. Wallace (Scotland)

8. T. Burgess (England)

9. Wabo (PNG)

10 Masoe (Samoa)

11.Allen (Ireland)

12.Kavanagh (Scotland)

13.Mannering (N.Z)

No I am Not a Widnes supporter I thought both of these second rows were exemplary.

NB nor would this be my World Team.

Did you definitely mean Tom Burgess? I don't think he had a poor game but he wouldn't make my top 5 prop performances just from the Eng v Aus game I don't think. His soft knock-on coming out of our half was crucial in giving Australia momentum at a bad time.

Lots of great performances so far and I've gone for plenty of Scots given I think they've given the team performance of the competition so far.

1. Russell (Scotland)

2. Morris (Australia)

3. Leilua (Samoa)

4. Guerra (Italy)

5. Uate (Fiji)

6. Brough (Scotland)

7. Preistley (USA)

8. Matagi (Samoa)

9. Henderson (Scotland)

10. Hill (England)

11. S. Manu (Tonga)

12. Addy (Scotland)

13. Mannering (New Zealand)

as a widnes fan i have to say that ben kavanagh was outstanding for scotland.
"Why is Napoleon crying ?" said one sailor to the other, "poor ###### thinks he's being exiled to st helens" came the reply.
