It seems the RLEF have already settled on a tentative qualification structure and they have ignored Malta in their plans despite the fact that they themselves feel they are more than eligible.

It's worth signing the petition for the sake of International Rugby League... Let's hope the RLEF get this right.

List of eligible Malta players....

- Jarrod Sammut (Bradford Bulls)
- Danny Galea (Widnes Vikings)
- Shane Shackleton (ex Roosters, Parramatta and Penrith)
- Jon Pepa (Parramatta U20's)
- Andrew Heffernan (Canberra Raiders U20's)
- Jonathan Wallace (London Broncos U19s)
- Pat Galea (Mounties Ron Massey Cup)

Is rl played on Malta?

Do they have 2 warring governing bodies?

First requirement is not insurmountable
Rugby League is a sport that desperately needs to expand its geographical supporter base and its player base. This imperative means that all other requirements are secondary until this is done.

All power in the game should be with governing bodies, especially international governing bodies.

Without these actions we will remain a minor sport internationally and nationally.

Yep, as EastlondonMike said, it's played there. The comp has 4 teams as well.

What exactly are the plans for the 2017 qualifiers? I'm assuming the Malta RL have been told what they are, but i can't find anywhere that explains why Malta wouldn't be involved.

I don't think it's been released to the wider public. Obviously the Maltese RL have been informed though.
