State of Origin 2013 impacted on eight NRL rounds as it was spread over seven weeks.

The feeling in the game seems to be that this was such a long stretch that it had a significant negative effect on the bread and butter game for clubs and their fans.

It has been referred to as an 8 week deadspot.

The word is that the NRL is set to condense the three game series to address this.

I won't hold my breath waiting for that to happen

Apols for being a useless newbie - why spread so much? Why not hold in consecutive weeks?

Could a season break help this and free up NRL players for internationals??
Malcolm Tucker: Fatty?
Jamie: Oh, aye, Fatty, wee Spiderman in his ###### pyjamas, what a ###### idea. From now on it's a proper fight; It's a pomp-fight, Motherwell rules. And Tom is gonna get a pint glass in his ###### eye and a pool cue up his ###### and another pool cue in his other ###### eye.
Malcolm Tucker: Geoff Holhurst?
Jamie: What, Mister Baby New Potato-Head? ###### off.
