At least all the non-native Scots have learned the national anthem!

I think this sort of environment is much more to the liking of Danny McBrough, than the England camp, where he would struggle. Hope it brings out the best of him against the Kiwis. Maybe a moment like Wales in the 2000 semi? Bit of a scare, before class truly tells?

Should be really interesting anyway, with the crowd behind the Scots.

I noticed at Workington all the Scotland team were belting out Flower of Scotland, mind you the Italian team were doing a good job on theirs too.

One of the things Steve McCormack seems to have impressed on his team is who they are representing and why it means so much, apparantly they took the NRL boys up to Scotland soon after arriving to visit places their ancestors came from, great move and it appears great team spirit - my niece attended a coaching session the team were doing in West Cumbria, she said every last one of them were brilliant (but I suspect Addy was her favourite as he got the most mentions!)

The Kiwis have been laughing at the Scots for the past 31 years.

That was the last time Scotland beat New Zealand in a professional sport (soccer, FIFA World Cup, Scotland 5-2 New Zealand).

29 goes the 15-a-side lot have had and no wins have come their way.

Time for MacBrough and his boys to step up.

That would be the 1982 WC in Spain IIRC.

I believe there are still some fans in jail there....

I didn't know New Zealand soccer fans cared so much.

I'm guessing they thought they were having a last drink as a squad together ...

Yep - one of only three teams unbeaten in the WC - Scotland, New Zealand and Australia! Not bad company to be keeping!
