There was even supposed to be an extra highlights programme today, but it seems like it's just a repeat of last night's one.

That actually makes sense, as there wouldn't be any new matches to cover since then.

Maybe they have decided to show both because of the brilliant viewing figures they are getting.

Oh, that's changed very recently! Looks like they've decided against it, the fools.

This decision stops the previous programme looking dull by comparison.

RLWC on the BBC- that's what they advertised and promoted before the tournament started and oh! how like fools we believed them.

Five Live have a cracking commentary team but radio just doesn't cut it in comparison to televising the match.

I thought that with BBC Sports sitting in Salford things might have improved but sorry to say they haven't :(

Would have been interesting to see the ratings had it been on going head to head with the union game on BBC1. Maybe it was a risk that the BRUBC didn't want to take? ;)

so a cracking quarter final they had the rights to ignored in favour of a nothing film that 20 people will watch? They really are tossers some times. Quite frankly given the total abandonment of any promotion and the min amount of coverage in the news etc I'm shocked the live games are getting the figures they are. Sodding bbc

i dont think they do hold tge rights. Pretty sure that Premier announced they had exclusive rights to 3 qf's.

The fact that it did appear in the online and printed BBC2 schedules suggests that, although PS may have had the rights, they may not have been exclusive.

Wait, so has the WC not been on the BBC then?

I must have been imagining all that

But that was just in case England were playing Sunday

I think the BBC had rights to one QF - the England one. After the first game, England could have been Sat 8pm or Sunday 3pm. Looks like they booked both slots, but only ever intended showing one, as per their rights.

In the Radio Times, the RWC is listed in an either/or schedule, with a film also listed "if the BBC does not show the Rugby".

Hmm. <_<

What does it say for Saturday? Same deal?

This was in the original press release about the Premier Deal:

A minimum of nine of the matches will be completely exclusive to the channel, including all of New Zealand and Australia’s group stage games (excluding Australia v England), plus the three quarter-finals and one semi-final.

That's our lot then for the BBC. The best we can hope for now - besides England v France, England v NZ and the WC final - is some highlights/review shows shown at a reasonable hour (on Sunday tea times perhaps?).
