I think Dr K will ditch us when he takes over at Swinton. Why else would he want us when he has somewhere to play his non-1st team players. Its a shame as I think hes good for the game and raises our profile. He was speaking with us first but I bet he found Chris Hamilton either 1. Difficult to deal with, or 2. did not want to relinquish his cash cow. Another, investor, sponsor or fan is put off my this man.

Didn't they want to move to Failsworth?

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

koukash wanted both latics and Roughyeds or neither and it was latics he couldn't agree a deal with!! But blame CH anyway yawn

Of course agreeing a deal with latics would take more time. They have something tangible to sell. Oldham rugby has no real assets to speak of. The rugby club has a few players signed on one year contracts basically worth nothing in transfer value. The best player do not belong to the club anyway. and the ground which isnt worth discussing any further as it not even fit for purpose (although I would bet a lot of debts with various suppliers which may take some time). The due diligence on Oldham Rugby would take about 5 mins (maybe the level of debt would take longer to assess). However buying a football club is a much bigger proposition and of course would be more difficult to agree on. I believed that Dr K had trouble getting a lok at the book and this put him off the rugby club.

Your last line says all about you, Superdude! You know how to make a story ( and not a good one, either) out of what YOU BELIEVE, and that's all!

I think the most relevant part of the quote is "help from the council". It is that which has made BP a happier place to be for Mr Corney.

Yes that was the eyebrow lifter for me too! When the Oldham Town Hall faces swingeing cuts taxpayers revenue for football development....Right...
