Great news for the City.

I bet all the posters on here from both clubs will be emotional today...!!

Any positives to be had for the sport on the back of it?

Perhaps. The City of Culture T&Cs exclude sport as cultural output, however, I advise you to watch this space.

Hull has culture?

Yawn. For lazy stereotyping I refer you to the Daily Mail comments pages.

hull has as much culture as mogadishu...both are dangerous places.
"Why is Napoleon crying ?" said one sailor to the other, "poor ###### thinks he's being exiled to st helens" came the reply.

This makes interesting viewing!!

Hull is hardly a hotspot compared to many other areas such as the West Riding & Manchester / Lancashire, and as for the Midlands and Darn sarf!!!

So keep your other spots of "higher culture" I'm staying safe  :onthequiet:

At first sight I'd have to agree with you, but I'd have to look at attendances in relation to population size to confirm.
