We were just having a chat in the office about where Sam Tomkins will fit in at the New Zealand Warriors.

Clearly they see him as a first-team player having paid a world-record fee for him. However, where he will fit in remains a mystery. Do you think he will go straight into the number one jersey, pushing Kevin Locke (also a top class full-back) onto the wing? Or do you reckon they will give him a chance in the halves? He's obviously got the skills - maybe it would be a better use of them.

The talk on the NZ warriors forum is that Kevin Locke could move into the halves or maybe even end up at Canterbury replacing Ben barba. It's a strange situation as the warriors have 3 great options at fullback in tomkins, Locke and fiishia(spelling).

Interesting. How do you think Tomkins would get on playing in the halves?

I think that would work better for england because we have more quality full backs coming through than halfbacks.

I think he'd go well but can't really see it happening in the short term as tomkins and Shaun Johnson would have a similar style of play i.e playing second receiver not the organizing role like Kieron foran for the kiwis.
