Sad News

Sorry to change the sporting topic but there's probably a few on here who would be interested to hear the sad news about the passing of two of my boyhood heroes, Ex Red's players Dave Carr and Johny Martin.
Dave Carr was part of the 64/65 team who were without doubt the best team ever to grace Borough Park, watching him play with the likes of Dixie Hale and Jimmy Moran taking the scalps of a few first division clubs was a joy to watch.
Johny Martin was a true the Red's legend, the fan's loved him and belted out the ' Johny Johny Martin on the wing ' song wether winning or losing. The goal he scored against Rochdale in the cup will long live in the memory, cutting in from the right and unleashing a thunderbolt into the top corner......sensational.

RIP Dave and Johny

Would loved to have seen Johnny play. Still talked about now by the older generation.

Both names fondly remembered by my dad , a golden era .
