after having my "anti xmas" thread locked had to afford a wry smile when today while working next to an upmarket café a young 22 yr old waiter emerged from the door at closing time, cleary distressed and unable to be subjected to anymore torture ................. of the Michael buble Christmas album on a loop since 8am this morning! just like he said it will be tomorrow and every day in the run up to the big day, the lasting mental effects on the poor lad will never be erased as long he lives im sure by the end of dec, oh and its still nov!

My sister used to work in a posh shop in Leeds. They had a Beegees CD on a loop. And it wasn't the Greatest Hits either.

eee, you were all lucky. We had to endure six hours of Hamish MacCunn's The Land of the Mountain and the Flood at an event at The Barton on Queensferry Road in Edinburgh.

It takes different forms
For some reason they turn the heat up in shops at Christmas so high it's a wonder the skirting boards don't sprout leaves made worse by the fact that perforce you've got your coat on

I help a friend on his market stall, and at this time of year we are in York. They have the same looped songs as they did last year (about 1 1/2 hour in length). All the standards you would expect. Luckily after this weekend, I am only there for 6 days out of about 20. And the speaker outside his cabin isn't (as yet) working. That is one thing we haven't complained about.

Back in the day I used to eat regularly in Omar Khans in Bradford. I got so used to the music his daughter gave me a copy of the CD.
Whenever we have a curry I turn the lights down a bit and put it on.
