What criteria does Opta use?

Is it metres made/Tackles/hit ups?

How do they use the data to get to a performance figure?

I am not familiar with Opta stats.

Yep, if the stats don't support pre-existing bias then the stats must be wrong. Simple!!

.....unless of course if, say, a half back got more points for making 20 tackles and 20 hit ups in a game than one who made 4 tackles and no hit ups but created the 'magic' to set up 4 tries?

Yes. you and opta are clearly massive prophets of RL...this list is DEFINITIVE... i mean it is obvious that Danny Addy (the worst tackler in SL) is clearly better than SamThaiday, Luke Lewis,  Greg Bird, Ben Westwood, Brett Ferres, Clint Newton, Nevile Costigan, Boyd Cordner,Greg Eastwood, Simon Mannering, Frank Pritchard,FP Nulasaala, D Falaago,H Hansen,Ta'ai,Taumololo etc etc..Addy is clearly the best second row of all time since Paul Welham...

It isn't necessary to even use bait on here any more, is it? Just the hook will suffice.
