Was that intentional John? Although I'm not a snapper myself, I do hope the photo comp continues onwards and upwards.

It wasn't my intention as the subject, but I think it may have been the intention of the person who took the pic, who has a history of this kind of thing. I have many pictures of me 'wearing' famous landmarks as hats. Maybe that's an idea for a future photo thread? ;)

Class 37 loco waiting for the signal to move onto the Anlaby Road loop alongside the KC stadium. What's festive about that? It was hauling a special train back from a Christmas carol service at Beverley Minster.

This should win the "know the most about what you're snapping" award.

Very impressive mate.

I'll have to put it on my list of things to do. My wife and I take cottage holidays most years and always visit a cathedral: Durham, Lincoln, Ely, Oxford, Truro, St Davids, Carlisle, York, Chester to name some, as well as both in Liverpool and the one in Manchester and others abroad. Also visited some in Scotland. With this in mind, churches and cathedrals could be a future theme for the photo comp and would be interesting indeed.

A man after my own heart. Can't decide if Wells or Ely is my favourite. But then it might be Exeter or Durham!! Ely for the lantern visit if you twist my arm.
Catch Litchfield on a strong sunny day and that is exquisite too.
Good idea for a future comp.

Actually, this is what Christmas means to me, our Dad died of an emergency ruptured Aortic Aneurism after 8 days on ITU at Hope Hospital, Salford on 23.12.93. 20 years ago this year.

Climbed quite a few (inside of course), with the tower at Lincoln very impressive. As for my favourite, that's a tough call, because they all offer something different.

What does it mean
This tearjerking scene
Beamed into my home
That it moves me so much
Why all the fuss
It's only two humans being.
