I believe Hunslet Warriors have not entered so they can fully focus on their first season in the Premier Division.

Don't understand why clubs don't enter it when you only have two chances of winning silverware each year.

Anyone got a list of teams entering the comp??

The sides not entered, lock lane, hull dockers, Hunslet warriors, Wigan st Jude's, York acorn, myton, rosebridge, oulton, millom, cas panthers, pilks recs, Coventry bears, Heworth, peterlee

Some good sides missing there, should all teams have to enter or not?

I think it should be a choice, withdrawls could be due to player availability on certain days or finances, possibility of three extra coach trips say could be out of a clubs budget for travel

Fair enough for travel, but the dates can be filled with catch up fixtures like last season so not guaranteed to be free dates.

I know my club didn't enter the first year as first round date was a stag do then the second round was the wedding

This year I'm surprised at any div 3 club who didn't enter purely because of only having 20 league fixtures this year

15 sides not entered is pretty poor for me, nearly a third of all sides in the ncl leagues. I wonder sometimes whether sides/ players want to play at all. Cup rugby is another part of the game, something to be enjoyed, upsets, playing different sides, sometimes pressure free dependant on expectancies. Something teams have too easily given up on.

I reckon some clubs don't enter due to the prospect of an away draw that may involve a long trip .     This would be easily remedied if clubs were signed up to the comp for 2 years at a time , teams drawn away in the first round in year 1 then they would be automatically handed a home tie in round 1 in year 2 .     just a thought !

Doesn't become an open draw then, any team drawn at home 1st year cannot play at home 2nd year and vice versa, ie 16 teams home can only play the 16 teams away from previous season. Also 1st round only draw doesn't guarantee that big travels are negated, ie st pats draw miners h year 1 then travel to hull and Cumbria rounds 2 and 3 year 1. Year 2 are guaranteed away draw round1, again draw hull/ Cumbria having been home previous year.

I can see were your coming from regarding travel, but the draw becomes extremely complicated and doesn't really solve many problems.

Regionalise early rounds maybe an answer but that isn't a totally open draw either.

Interesting what others think?
