Great news that.

Not bad for a sport that has no money, no production line of junior players to replace the current dinosaurs, and no international game to speak of.

Coo! that's great not before time. In truth I thought I was in one of those old black and white sci-fi's and had to stop myself asking

" Who are you? And what have you done with the real BBC?"

Good to see this.

Regular radio coverage from the national broadcaster... a step forward.

Good stuff.

If they could just sort out the Super League Show we'd be some way there.

Good news! Small steps on an epically undertapped area for the game...

I think it's pretty clear that the appointment of James Mercer is starting to have an affect; I am sure Barwick as well. The RFL needs to do more of this and hire professionals to take up key positions...

That is excellent news.  Fair play to the RFL on this one.

Does anyone listen to the BBC radio commentary whilst watching the Sky pictures?
If so is it any good?

Unfortunately, though, the Superleague Show has slipped back to its pre-enlightenment era time of 11.30pm oop north and early hours of the morning nationwide.  Shame, that.

I intend to iPlayer it and watch it on the train.  Works for me.

Cheer up, RL is actually rather good

Surely there must be some bad news in this somewhere?

If Marwan was in charge, there'd be hundreds of games on BBC1, never mind this radio. And they'd be playing million bloody pound each game.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Not tried it, but there might be issues with differing timelag on radio and TV. I know that different makes of DAB radios can be out of time with each other when played side by side.

Only way to find out is to try it.

Haven't tried it with Sky, but tried it with football that was on ITV and there was a time lag that made it pointless, can't remember which was in front though
