Just seen, on the RLFans forum, that Jon Ford's signed for Sheffield on a season long loan. Disappointing for us but hardly surprising, as, I suspect, both Salford and the player would want him to play at a higher level than championship 1, bearing in mind he's in Salford's SL squad. I think we need at least one more centre, as, going with Cookson and a forward may be ok against a number of teams in our division, but we could end up getting burned for pace by the better teams.

I think you are right, although Jon wanted to stay at Oldham the powers that be wanted him playing in the Championship. Wish him all the best and thankful for his all efforts last year.

Agree with that, did wonders for us last season did Fordy. I wish him well in his career he has the makings of a very decent centre. As for our centres we have Jake Shoel too, although i read somewhere he hadnt been training. If Whitehead plays fullback, Steve Neild is also an option.

Very good player who was told at Xmas he would be going out on loan for the season but didn't know where until this week due to injuries at Salford. Whitehead and Nield both showed up well at barrow last wkend. Up the Yeds

That's a name from the past. If this lad is only half as good at prop as his namesake apparently was as a winger in the early part of the 20th century, then we'll have a gem on our hands. I can but dream!
