ALL NIGHT. :D

What does it mean
This tearjerking scene
Beamed into my home
That it moves me so much
Why all the fuss
It's only two humans being.

No I don't care if you're if you're into different bands

No cause for so much hatred, I'm just a different man

Pull off that cover, I will too, and learn to understand

With music deep inside we'll make world unity our plan

Not really a Floyd fan but "Wish you were here" and "Shine on you crazy diamond" are two pieces of amazing music.

Love BBC4 Friday night music programmes be it 2 Tone/Paul Weller and even the history of Trad Jazz in the UK.

I've always thought Pink Floyd are a bunch of great blues musicians wasting both their own and my time. Still 'music' as prententious conceptualised dirge keeps Mechanical Engineering students off the streets, I suppose!

Sorry about the error. I prefer Arnold Payne anyway. ....

Nothing. Same as Pink Floyd.

For people like me, Pink Floyd died when Sid Barrett left. Record-sales and tour-receipts shouldn't be confused with musical innovation and integrity.

There's a direct comparison with Bernie Leadon and the Eagles.

so you reckon "the wall" "dark side of the moon" and "wish you were here" were not innovative? when you say "people like me" are you stone deaf.

Each to their own I guess, but I find PF stuff to be soulless, pretentious, overblown conceptual claptrap. Though I can appreciate the musicianship.

I understand it's often the soundtrack to many a shared student joint which may explain some of it's enduring popularity in certain circles.

I don't believe it!!

I'm in agreement with WearyRhino.

Actually, I think I am going a bit deaf.

My sole consolation is that at least I've  damaged my hearing listening to better stuff ... blues, ska, soul, country, latin, punk etc ... than poncy prog rock.

Just done catch up on Radio 2 and found a great show about Brass Bands in Trinidad and how it influenced Calypso and Jazz in the island's in the old Empire.Truely fascinating and makes you appreciate real music from other countries like Trinidad (and not just Jamaica), alongside Ghana,Cuba, Brazil etc.

There is more to life then Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Motown,Rap,Rock and Billy Ray Cyrus.

Almost as good as 'Arnold Layne', eh?
