Wakefield Trinity Wildcats’ Lee Smith has been released from the remainder of his contract to join Aviva Premiership rugby union side Newcastle Falcons.

Good news for Trin. Saves the wages and he offered very little to us last season.

Are you sure it won't just go towards the debt? I wrote a piece about Smith for this week's League Express, when researching I couldn't believe he was still only 27. Amazing you say he didn't contribute much given his pedigree. I wonder if anyone else will make three consecutive, try-scoring, winning appearances in Grand Finals again?
