Hello Barrybeagle. I only did it for a bit of interest when I had some time on my hands and to see if I got any feedback. I have had one or two people ask me if they can use it in their match programs. It takes quite a bit of searching through my records so I am not going to promise, but I will do my best every week.

Yeah mate. John McAtee will be well known in Leigh and both feared and hated all over the country. Chris Irwin - Wigan and Cas and a lot earlier Stewart Williams who played for Salford and Barrow. What about Ian Watson making his open age debut - he went on to be the record cap holder for Wales, and now coach's Swinton. Alan Evans is Eccles' all time record try scorer and is on a video of RL bad boys! Malc Reddican was one of the toughest men I ever met, but sadly, was murdered in Salford about 10 years ago, maybe more. Dean Pickup was the best kicker of a ball I have ever seen. Kicked over 1000 goals for Eccles and over 100 drop goals. I once Dean kick a drop out at West Bowling and the ball sailed over the entire West Bowling defence to bounce dead and cause a drop out at the other end!

Isn't that cos West Bowling play on a 1 in 8 slope? :) Certainly did when we had the pleasure of visiting their mud bath...

I have been to West Bowling many times but don't recall noticing much of a slope. It was played at Bankfoot cricket ground, behind Odsal stadium and Dean dropped out from the clubhouse end. Still an achievement that I have never heard of anybody else doing.

It was in the U16s that I played there, might well have been a reserve pitch. I remember it being next to a roundabout and a main road, although that could describe a lot of places on the periphery of Bradford...

That will have been the pitch directly behind the car park at odsal, odsal sedbergh also play there it is a horrible pitch in the best of weathers never mind when is tanking it down, and it is on a horrendous slope.

That sounds about right. Still, we made up for the weather by winning 50-0 with only 12 players, so not all bad.
