Dewsbury Celtic .v. Shaw Cross Sharks. 1989-90 13-12, 1990-91 24-10, 1991-92 22-14, 2012 38-30. Shaw Cross are looking for their first ever NCL victory at Crows Nest park after failing on their 4 previous visits.

Myton Warriors .v. Oulton Raiders. 2010-11 28-28, 2012 21-12. Only 2 previous meetings at Myton in the NCL and Oulton looking for a first win. They drew on the first meeting.

Rochdale Mayfield .v. Millom. 1989-90 25-  2, 1990-91 31-12, 1991-92 15-  0, 1995-96 34-  4, 1998-99 17-  7, 1999-00 24-  6, 2000-01 45-  4, 2002-03   8-  7, 2003-04 64-  4, 2009-10 26-26, 2010-11 30-18, 2012 29-16, 2013 1-12. Not looking good for Millom. Only 1 daw and no victories in 13 previous visits to Mayfield.

Saddleworth Rangers .v. Milford Marlins. 2003-04 24-58, 2009-10 30-  6, 2011 12-23, 2013 26-24. Honours even with 2 wins each.

York Acorn .v. Normanton Knights. 1995-96   0-14, 1996-97 12-42, 1997-98 18-34, 1998-99   0-24, 1999-2000   6-27, 2000-01 16-20, 2001-02 25-  6, 2002-03 32-24, 2003-04 14-22, 2004-05 28-10 04/05. First meeting in 9 years but Normanton have a great record with 7 wins in 10 meetings, although Acorns 3 wins have come in the last 4 meetings.

Hello Barrybeagle. I only did it for a bit of interest when I had some time on my hands and to see if I got any feedback. I have had one or two people ask me if they can use it in their match programs. It takes quite a bit of searching through my records so I am not going to promise, but I will do my best every week.

Yeah mate. John McAtee will be well known in Leigh and both feared and hated all over the country. Chris Irwin - Wigan and Cas and a lot earlier Stewart Williams who played for Salford and Barrow. What about Ian Watson making his open age debut - he went on to be the record cap holder for Wales, and now coach's Swinton. Alan Evans is Eccles' all time record try scorer and is on a video of RL bad boys! Malc Reddican was one of the toughest men I ever met, but sadly, was murdered in Salford about 10 years ago, maybe more. Dean Pickup was the best kicker of a ball I have ever seen. Kicked over 1000 goals for Eccles and over 100 drop goals. I once Dean kick a drop out at West Bowling and the ball sailed over the entire West Bowling defence to bounce dead and cause a drop out at the other end!

Isn't that cos West Bowling play on a 1 in 8 slope? :) Certainly did when we had the pleasure of visiting their mud bath...

I have been to West Bowling many times but don't recall noticing much of a slope. It was played at Bankfoot cricket ground, behind Odsal stadium and Dean dropped out from the clubhouse end. Still an achievement that I have never heard of anybody else doing.

I have been to West Bowling many times but don't recall noticing much of a slope. It was played at Bankfoot cricket ground, behind Odsal stadium and Dean dropped out from the clubhouse end. Still an achievement that I have never heard of anybody else doing.

It was in the U16s that I played there, might well have been a reserve pitch. I remember it being next to a roundabout and a main road, although that could describe a lot of places on the periphery of Bradford...

That's definitely not the first team pitch where Dean kicked his drop out then mate.

That will have been the pitch directly behind the car park at odsal, odsal sedbergh also play there it is a horrible pitch in the best of weathers never mind when is tanking it down, and it is on a horrendous slope.

That sounds about right. Still, we made up for the weather by winning 50-0 with only 12 players, so not all bad.
