Excellent choice, and a big name that we all wanted. Well done board. Let's hope he uses his Salford ties to get Adam Walne up.

Excellent news, was up on saturday apparently to talk over the job. Nice to see a new name rather than the usual bunch, looking forward to seeing how he goes. Hope he knows a couple of good props too.

You'd think he's told the club he can bring some players with him. Good ties to Wigan, Salford, Bradford and saints.

Excellent news, like people are saying hes got excellent ties with the biggest clubs so it he cant tempt players no one will, great to see the club not just going for the cheap options, this will lift peoples spirits no end. Well done board.

Yes, a good choice with his past experiences.   Let's all get behind him and the team 100% and see where it takes us.

I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimension, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave Hadfield - Independent 25th August 1996.

He was in the lounge before kick off on Sunday so watched the match. An excellent choice and will get the backing of us all.

Welcome to Town Phil.

The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but thats the way to bet!

Big task ahead for him . All the best of luck to the guy and he'll have the fans backing to get us where we want to be come September. And hopefully a full contact book ! He's a name who should be an attraction to players , and he has close links with Brian Noble . Impressive CV, excellent for us

Great stuff! Nice quick experienced appointment with good contacts, can't ask

for more than that!

Can't be right though as Choccy told us it was going to be Gary Schofield.  :onthequiet:

Well done Town, I think most fans will be happy with that decision. Bags of SL experience, coached at the highest level and will have plenty of contacts within the game.

Best of luck Phil and welcome to Town.
