More trouble for Tigers over and above Robbie Farah's continuing issues:

Young halfback Luke Brooks (shoulder), veteran winger Pat Richards (hamstring) and 2014 revelation Bodene Thompson (suspension) are late withdrawals from the squad to make the trip to Townsville on Friday.

With a casualty ward that also includes James Tedesco, David Nofoaluma, Braith Anasta and Tim Moltzen, the Tigers will field a near-unrecognisable backline on Saturday night against the Cowboys.

Thursday

Rabbitohs vs Broncos

Souths: Thomas Burgess has been named to replace brother George Burgess in the front row, with Luke Burgess, Joe Picker and Bryson Goodwin named on an extended bench.

Brisbane have named an unchanged 17, with Jarrod Wallace as 18th man and Justin Hodges still out with a hamstring injury.

Round 25

Late News

Thursday
Bulldogs will be unchanged, with Sam Perrett (ribs) and Josh Morris (knee) to play through injuries for the rest of the year. Both trained this week.
Rabbitohs are keeping tight-lipped on whether John Sutton (knee) will play, but expect him to be a late inclusion. No other changes are predicted, with Adam Reynolds (hamstring) right to go and George Burgess (suspension) to return.

Friday
Broncos will be as per program, with Justin Hodges to again play fullback.
Dragons travelled on Thursday with the full 20 named given the NSW Cup side is on the bye. Josh Dugan and Benji Marshall (both ankle) have been cleared to play.

Saturday
Jarrod Mullen (corked calf) is sweet to return, with the Knights to be 1-17. Timana Tahu will play his first NRL game of the year off the bench and will be used in the back row rotation. Akuila Uate (knee) and James McManus (foot) are out for the season.
Eels expect to be 1-17, with Manu Ma’u (broken arm), Willie Tonga (back) and Ken Sio (shoulder) all aiming for next week.

Raiders have no injury concerns and will be as per program. Brett White (shoulder) and Brenko Lee (hamstring) both trained with the rehab group this week and won’t be late inclusions.
Wests Tigers expect no changes. Pat Richards (hamstring/groin) ran well on Wednesday and is set to return, although he faces a final fitness test on Friday. Luke Brooks (hamstring) is at least a week away.

Roosters have no injury issues and will field their strongest 17 for the first time since before Origin, with NSW Cup hooker Heath L’Estrange (knee, finals) the only player on the injury list. Shaun Kenny-Dowall had nine stitches to a facial wound on the weekend, but is a certain starter.
Melbourne pulled up well from Monday’s clash, with no forced changes expected despite a short turnaround. Jesse Bromwich (birth of child) comes straight back in. There is a whisper Justin O’Neill may come in for Sisa Waqa (selection decision, not injury), but Storm officials are keeping their cards close to their chests ahead of a very big game.

Sunday
Warriors expect to be unchanged, with Konrad Hurrell (leg) set to play and Feleti Mateo dropped to NSW Cup.
Luke Bailey (neck) is out. 18th man David Mead (hamstring) will come into the starting backline, with Brad Takairangi moving into the forwards. James Roberts (back spasms) failed to finish training on Thursday, but will travel on Friday and is expected to play. Kevin Gordon (knee) has trained and could be a late inclusion. But Dave Taylor (calf) hasn’t hit the paddock this week and is only 50-50 for next round.

Sea Eagles have no concerns, with Jason King (high tackle) free to play after securing a downgrade at the judiciary. Dunamis Lui (knee) is pushing to be a late inclusion. Glenn Stewart (ankle) won’t play again this season.

Panthers remain unsure if James Segeyaro (passing of father) will play. Communication with the star hooker has been troublesome due to poor infrastructure in Papua New Guinea. The club says the decision will be entirely up to Segeyaro and they won’t place any pressure on him to play. With back-up hooker Kevin Kingston (knee, season) also out, young gun Kierran Moseley has been training at hooker. Jeremy Latimore (suspension, finals week one) is out, with a replacement not yet confirmed.

Monday

Cowboys have no injury concerns and will be as per program provided they get through their final two sessions.
Sharks have 13 top-liners on the sideline, but expect to be unchanged, with Tinirau Arona (hamstring) set to return and Tupou Sopoaga (hamstring) tipped to play.

Round 26 2014

Team News:

Roosters v Rabbitohs, Thursday at Allianz Stadium

Roosters: Jake Friend is out with a chest injury, with Mitch Aubusson to start at hooker and Heath L'Estrange returning to the bench. Remi Casty replaces the injured Frank-Paul Nu'uausala on the bench. Expect back-rowers Boyd Cordner and Aiden Guerra to get through plenty of work against the star-studded Rabbitohs pack, especially with the tackle-hungry Friend sidelined.

Rabbitohs: Adam Reynolds has copped a one-week suspension for a dangerous throw, opening the door for the fit-again John Sutton to slot straight back into the halves as Luke Keary shifts to halfback. Sam Burgess smashed 75 last week, is Fantasy's top overall scorer this year and again looms as a great captaincy option.

Storm v Broncos, Friday at AAMI Park

Storm: Ryan Hinchcliffe starts with Jordan McLean moving back to an extended bench. Cameron Smith is your safest captaincy option this week.

Broncos: Sam Thaiday is out after failing to defend his charge at the judiciary on Tuesday night, with Todd Lowrie set to come into the 17. Against a top team and with Brisbane needing to hold onto eighth spot to get a finals berth, this is the kind of game where Corey Parker could work his heart out and produce a big score.

Wests Tigers v Sharks, Saturday at Leichhardt Oval

Tigers: Cory Paterson replaces Brenden Santi on the bench in the only change. Robbie Farah may have the best average score of any player in NRL Fantasy this year (66. 8), but he's averaged only 55 points over his past three games and is a slightly risky captaincy choice.

Sharks: Last week's late withdrawals Tinirau Arona and Michael Lichaa are both back, with Pat Politoni and Junior Roqica dropping back to the bench. Last week's Man of the Match Michael Gordon is the only Shark in action this week to average better than 40 points a game.

Raiders v Eels, Saturday at GIO Stadium

Raiders: Brett White is back and will start at prop while Dane Tilse moves to the bench and Kyle O'Donnell is out. Jack Wighton has scored 54 and 47 in the past fortnight since switching to fullback and could be a player to keep an eye on next season.

Eels: Parramatta have named an unchanged 17, although Ben Smith will drop out of the side after copping a three-match suspension. Jarryd Hayne's golden run has finished but against the Raiders he is a genuine chance to crack the ton for the first time this year.

Cowboys v Sea Eagles, Saturday at 1300 Smiles Stadium

Cowboys: Unchanged this week. Big guns Johnathan Thurston, Matt Scott and Jason Taumalolo are producing at the right time for Fantasy coaches right now.

Sea Eagles: Jamie Buhrer is out for the season, with last week's hero Tom Symonds starting at lock, while Brenton Lawrence is back in the front row and Jason King moves to the bench. Matt Ballin is also out with a broken leg, despite being named on Tuesday, with Manly yet to name a replacement hooker. Jamie Lyon has hit 52, 53 and 53 in the past three weeks and Anthony Watmough is in great form, but Daly Cherry-Evans produced his second-worst score of the year (34) against the Panthers.

Knights v Dragons, Sunday at Hunter Stadium

Knights: Travis Waddell returns on the bench with Tyler Randell dropping out. The Knights have produced some memorable performances on Old Boys Day and after routing the Eels the likes of Joey Leilua (89 last week) and Jarrod Mullen (84) could go big again against a Dragons side with little to play for.

Dragons: Ben Creagh (ankle) and Mitch Rein (suspension) are out, with Mike Cooper starting at prop, Kyle Stanley getting a run at hooker, and Bronson Harrison and Shane Pumipi joining the bench.

Titans v Bulldogs, Sunday  at Cbus Super Stadium

Titans: Greg Bird is suspended and Cody Nelson is out with a hamstring injury, with Luke Bailey returning at prop, Dave Taylor into the second row and Maurice Blair named 18th man. Daniel Mortimer will probably be in my top 17 this week thanks to Adam Reynolds' suspension, so here's hoping he gets through a lot of defensive work against the Dogs.

Bulldogs: Josh Reynolds returns from suspension at five-eighth, with Moses Mbye dropping back to an extended bench alongside Harlan Alaalatoa. Dale Finucane has copped a one-match ban. The Bulldogs' backline stars could provide some big Fantasy scores against a Titans side on a six-game losing streak.

Panthers v Warriors, Sunday at Sportingbet Stadium

Panthers: James Segeyaro has been named to return at hooker while Adam Docker is suspended. Young gun Kierran Moseley played hooker last week and is likely to take some of Segeyaro's minutes after being named on the bench in jersey No.14. The battle between Jamal Idris and fellow barnstorming centre Konrad Hurrell should be a cracker.

Warriors: Feleti Mateo played well in the NSW Cup last week and returns on an extended bench. The Warriors trail the eighth-placed Broncos on for-and-against and are facing their biggest game of the season, so there is plenty of motivation for the likes of Shaun Johnson and Simon Mannering to go big.

Friday, Sep 5, Storm v Broncos, AAMI Park, 7:45pm
The Storm have no injury concerns and expect to be 1-17, with Junior Moors and Justin O’Neill set to drop off the extended bench.
The Broncos will have one change, with Sam Thaiday (suspension) out. Corey Oates will replace him in the back row, with Todd Lowrie to come into the 17.

UPDATE 3.15pm (Aussie Time) Friday: Ben Hannant is now tipped to start the match in place of Sam Thaiday (suspension), with Corey Oates to play from the bench. “We have Hannant or Oates there, we’ll wait and see,” coach Anthony Griffin said. “We’ll get down there and have a look at the weather and see if it’s bogged up or not. It’s fine at the moment, Todd Lowrie is on the bench, but we’ll make a decision on game day.”

Craig Bellamy has made one change to his line-up for Friday night's must win clash against the Broncos at AAMI Park.

Junior Moors replaces Dayne Weston on the interchange bench, with Weston and outside back Justin O'Neill dropping out of the 19-man squad named on Tuesday.

In a slight positional re-shuffle, Jordan McLean will start in the front-row with Bryan Norrie moving onto the interchange.

Saturday 6th September   Round 26 Games

Tigers v Sharks, Leichhardt Oval, 3pm

Wests Tigers are set to be 1-17, although Luke Brooks (hamstring) is a chance of being a late inclusion.
Sharks have doubts over Michael Lichaa (neck) and Tinirau Arona (hamstring), but expect no other changes.
UPDATE Thursday: Michael Lichaa (neck) and Tinirau Arona (hamstring) have trained this week and are right to play.

Raiders v Eels, GIO Stadium, 5.30pm
The Raiders will be 1-17, with Brett White (shoulder) training all week and cleared to return. Brenko Lee (hamstring) is no chance of being a late inclusion.
Ben Smith (suspension) is out in the only change for the Eels. He will be replaced on the bench by Pauli Pauli or Manu Ma’u. The decision is dependent on the fitness of Ma’u (broken arm), who is aiming to return after a long lay-off.
UPDATE Friday: The Eels say Manu Ma’u is only an “outside chance” to return this week.

Cowboys v Sea Eagles, 1300SMILES Stadium, 7.30pm
The Cowboys expect to be 1-17, with Johnathan Thurston (leg) to shake off a knock and Kane Linnett (dangerous throw) free to play after taking the early guilty plea at the judiciary.
Matt Ballin (broken fibula) is out. He will be replaced by young gun Jayden Hodges at hooker in what looms as Manly’s only change. Richie Fa’aoso (broken neck) has been cleared to return, although it’s uncertain when – or if – he will play NRL this season.
UPDATE  Friday: Matt Ballin has revealed his replacement Jayden Hodges won’t play the full 80 minutes. He is likely to be spelled by one of Manly’s back row forwards, possibly Tom Symonds.
