I predict that at least 1 person forgets that kick-off is 2pm on SATURDAY not Sunday.

I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimension, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave Hadfield - Independent 25th August 1996.

Trivia Fact - The Player/Coach Of Normanton is Second Row Forward Richard Blakeway. He stands at 6' 3 and is a creative ball player who lists Hunslet, York City Knights, Castleford Tigers and Featherstone Rovers as his previous clubs.
Seven of our present squad - Miller, Mossop, Mattinson, Coward, Shackley, Stack and McGoff - have already met him on a rugby field when we were beaten by Hunslet (30 - 0) in Feb 2011.

Looking forward to the Normanton match on Saturday, although it's hard to find out much information about the opposition. The coaching duo of Paul Seal (former Halifax Loose Forward) and Richard Blakeway (Hunslet et al) will probably be playing in a useful team of both youth and experience. Apart from these two, the team will feature Adrian Mulcahy, formerly on the books of Barrow and the present Conference League two player of the Year. Another quality name is Lee Maskill who a few years ago went to Fiji as Captain of a BARLA Great Britain touring party.
Based on their record of appearances (season only just started) the team will probably involve the following players:
Aaron Butterfield Back Age 21- 3 appearances this season.
* Adrian Mulcahy Half Back Age 28 - 3 appearances, 5 goals, Man of Match last match.
Chris Woolford Forward Age 30 - 3 appearances this season, 1 Try.
Clark Thompson Forward Age 22 - 3 appearances this season, 1 Try.
David Evans Forward Age 21 - 3 appearances this season.
Ian Hoult Forward Age 23 - 3 appearances this season.
Joe Crossland Back Age 18 - 2 appearances March 1st and 8th, 1 Try.
Johnathon Hodgson Back Age 25- 3 appearances this season, 1 Man of Match.
Jordan Ratcliffe Forward Age 20 - 3 appearances this season.
* Lee Maskill Back Age 32 - 3 appearances this season, 5 Tries ( 3 on March 8th).
Patrick Waterton Forward Age 30 - 3 appearances this season.
* Richard Blakeway Forward Coach Age 30 - 3 appearances this season.
Ryan Kelsey Forward Age 18 - 3 appearances this season.
Steve Lewis Back Age 27 - 3 appearances this season.
Thomas Alexander Half Back Age 21 - 3 appearances this season.
Thomas Carroll Forward Age 22 - 1 appearance March 8th.
* Paul Seal Forward Coach Age 35 - 1 appearance this season in their last match.
Other possibles:
Adam Salter Back Age 21 - 2 appearances this season, missed last match.
Johnny Kirk Forward Age 33 - 2 appearances this season, missed last match.
Jacob Crossland Forward Age 21 - 1 appearance this season, March 1st.

Think Chris Woolford played hooker for dewsbury and Steve Lewis has played pro also but may be wrong

Good knowledge Gillmeister. There was a Steve Lewis who played as a forward for Hunslet and age now matches, although I think Normanton list their Steve as a Back. If it is the same one, he played as recently as last season for Hunslet against Town then immediately must have started playing for Normanton at the back end of that season.
Again there was a Chris Woolford at Dewsbury and he was part of the team that beat Town in 2005 in the Nat 2 Final Eliminator. That was in the days of Sione and Limmer.

Lewis originally signed for York before joining Hunslet as part of an exodus which was around one of the March brothers leaving. He was a wing/centre before being converted to backrow, and im 100% certain that its the same Chris Woolford who played hooker for Dewsbury also
