Why don't we wait and see how 3x8 system goes before talking of a follow up structure. It's not even started yet!

I quite like the 3 x 8 idea and think it will add a lot of interest, especially outside of SL. I was just suggesting alternatives as a lot of people seem to think it's doomed to fail

It has worked well in Welsh RU so why not?

I don't know that that's true, Johnny.  What they did is divide the country up into regions and pick one club to represent that region.  Not quite the same thing as mergers.

BSJ's tongue is firmly wedged in his cheek with that post.

Do we need to have better representative football as a tier between current clubs and the international team? I know the Aussies have SOO, but what would we have that wouldn't be a botch?

What about a 4N type competition based on the regional sides mentioned at the start of this thread. Players could represent the region they were born in, went to school in and/or played junior RL in. It could compose sides from WYorks, Greater Manchester, East Yorks, ANO North West(Merseyside,Chesire,South West Lancs), Cumbria, London. Any sides not in the four could play in a second tier comp. Each team plays each other once with a final at the end(maximum 5 games).

Any idea that mentions feeder clubs is a non starter.

Why?

Basically you're talking mergers...

What a fantastic idea. You genius!! I wonder why you'd mentioned that before.
