How much unearthed and missed talent do we have taking the field all over the UK every week?

We are proposing residential trials held in the North and South for players aged 16 1/2 to 23

We need to build interest then can get plans in motion

We are hoping to provide a platform for SL Clubs and Championship Clubs to take notice

 @EliteRugbMngmnt

Any thoughts on if such a project will work?

Sounds like a great idea but why put a 23 year old ceiling on it?

Back In The Good Old Days  Upper age limit set as a proposal I know that plenty over the age of 23 could still mix it

We need some feedback from the rugby community and some interest in taking part

ERM, you would find it very hard to get anything sanctioned from the RFL with regards to residential trials in the UK.

Although some don't like it there are mechanisms for this age banding which is just about to hit the streets and will be known as the Lionhearts & Lions Program, not to be confused with the old Lionhearts.

Once you have completed your trials you will no doubt find the majority of lads have either not succeeded and been released by Super league or you get that one genuine stand out player and to be fair the Three counties does that every year and the three counties will be expanding in the next 12 months and again in 24 months. its taken time to get there but its on the go!! The counties series will run in hand with the Lionhearts

Now I agree talent and drop off at 16+ is massive in Rugby League but its no different to any other main stream sport. The focus for me is you have to build a bigger base at the bottom to make sure you can sustain a viable competition come 16 and over.

Your going into a market that will shortly have a dedicated team looking after it but I would be interested to hear your vision?

A few friends known as "Elite Rugby Management" ?

Clearly you will have done your research on the existing talent pathways within the sport?

You are also looking to target players with the potential to make it within a professional environment?

As Mr Chairman suggests..........it is likely your are in this for the financial returns as opposed to developing the player pool at Elite level.

That said you will need some serious funds to market an initiative of this nature, the full backing of the governing body and significant professional credibility to influence both players and pro clubs to buy in to any proposals you may have regarding the future of the players you identify within any authorised trials.
