I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimension, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave Hadfield - Independent 25th August 1996.

Second half brain shut off ala Hemel.Crowley Oldham m.o.m. although feeding off very little creation from the inside ran with vigour and determination to create his own opportunities.Second half Egremont played with enthusiasm and their half backs orchestrated a excellent team response and it was difficult to differentiate between the Championship One and the Conference. Admittedly we have a new half back pairing but we have a long way to go to sort this area out and it must be done sharpish before its too late.
