Doncaster winger Stewart Sanderson spoke to the official website ahead of Sunday's Tetley's Challenge Cup clash with Hemel Stags.

The Dons winger has impressed for the club this season, with 64 points from his first seven matches, coverting 24 goals.

However, despite helping the side to a great start to the campaign, Sanderson said last week’s defeat at Halifax hurt the team.

“It was tough to stomach, getting beaten in the manner and by the score-line we did.

“We are used to the winning habit and it is always hard to get back to that after losing a match.  We will dust ourselves down and be ready for Sunday’s Challenge Cup match.

“We need to get back on the horse, we will review and hopefully put right what we did wrong against Halifax.”

The Dons welcome Hemel Stags to the Keepmoat Stadium, with the Championship 1 side heading north to Doncaster on the back of successive victories.

Sanderson say’s the side need to guard against complacency and is expecting a hard fought match if they are going to progress to the next round of the competition.

“We need to be professional right from the off, we know it will be a tough game despite Hemel being in the league below us, they will be fired up.

“We will prepare like a normal game and we are confident that if we stick to our game plan the result willcome.”

Everyone wants to get through to the next round and hopefully we can get the result in front of our own fans.”

A win against the Stags would put Doncaster into the last 16 of the Cup, which could present an opportunity of a big draw against a Super League side.

Sanderson admitted that opportunity will fire the team up for Sunday’s clash, with everyone in the team wanting to make it through.

“First and foremost we need to concentrate on Sunday's match, we know it will be difficult, but hopefully we will be able to get the win.

“Everyone wants to test themselves against the best and it would be great to get a big draw at the Keepmoat Stadium if we get through.

“It will give us the opportunity to put ourselves on the map, whilst coming up against some top players.”
