Castleford Tigers have banned a female supporter for 12 months after she entered the field of play during the First Utility Super League Round 6 fixture against Salford Red Devils at the AJ Bell Stadium on 23rd March 2014.

The woman has been banned from all home and away games until the end of March 2015 after running on to the pitch to remonstrate with the match referee. The ban has been imposed following an internal investigation undertaken in consultation with the RFL.

Castleford Tigers CEO Steve Gill said: "We have worked really hard to make Castleford Tigers a family club and we pride ourselves on making The Mend-A-Hose Jungle a safe and welcoming place to watch Rugby League.

"The behaviour of this person was totally unacceptable and the sanction imposed demonstrates our commitment to stand up for the true supporters of Castleford Tigers and protect our reputation.

"We have invested a significant amount of money in CCTV at The Mend-A-Hose Jungle and anyone found guilty of unruly or anti-social behaviour could face a lifetime ban."
