Town were terrible today and propped up by dual reg. I think they are finished after this year and almost certain relegation that waits them.

We have Now three winable games in the next four . With Seymour to sort out our obvious deficiancies in attack and a couple of fellas from saints there is no reason we can't move out the bottom 5.

We weren't great today but still had more than enough for the shower up the road.

Next year we have funds if we stay up to attract decent players and locals 350k will help a load may even take a couple of town players ...Olstrum and Phillips maybe . Mattinson is made of glass so I wouldn't take him.

Tip for Town ditch the Wigan link it's doing sweet all for you ....lost every game they have played. Interesting why Gelling didn't play today mind.

Enjoy your moment in the sun, you deserved the points, but I wouldn't get carried away, haven were every bit as poor, and gloating about taking control of west cumbrian rugby league - well that's as laughable as towns performance today.
The pro game in west Cumbria is in big trouble, name no mistake about it

What a load of .............. You say with one breath that Town were propped up by DR and in the next breath you are wanting two players from Saints!!!!

Today Town had 3 young Wigan players who have played several games each for us this season just like Hand and Taylor have played for Haven (did you forget Taylor is a Wigan player?) so again not a lot of difference there, is there?

You should have put 40 on us today with all the possession we gifted you but you struggled to win in the end. All the defensive work we had to do told in the end but that was our own fault. With Thornley getting injured today Gelling could be playing against Bradford on Monday.

I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimension, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave Hadfield - Independent 25th August 1996.

There is a prize at the end of this season if any team can stay up. 350k funding. That opens up opportunities for Haven or Town if one stays up. The amatures can be offered financial incentives to sign which neither club can afford now. The club that stays up can take the best local players. Its a game changer.

Town board have dropped the ball big style this year ....question is can they pick it up again before it's to late.

Haven are at least trying to make the cut. We were poor today and missing key personel but still had way to much for a very poor Town side. Lupton was a waste , Mattinson is made of glass. Olstrum was on and off with injuries all game after Marabe ran over him. Compared to last season Town were awful.

Don't worry this is a marathon not a sprint. Long way to go to the finishing line. Ever thought you are spending now and we might be looking to spend nearer the nitty gritty stage of the season? Why can't both teams stay up?

Don't know where you got that figure from but you're going to be massively disappointed if you think you'll get £350k next season. The funding for next year is based on league positions, the team finishing 9th this year gets £150k next year and it increases by £10k per league position up to 3rd. Only the top 2 get any big increase who both get about £500k each.

Workington Town. Then. Now. Always.

£350k???? Don't let delusion get in the way of facts
Town and Haven won't get £350k between them

I still think it will be a long hard struggle for us to make the top 9 and Fridays win over a very poor town hasn't made me change that view although if the Seymour deal comes off that could be a big boost as we a re badly in need of a classy halfback.Towns only hope is that they sort there DR out and start getting quality 1st team fringe players in the positions they actually need and not the academy kids they have been getting.
