WELCOME TO NRL Round 9
.
The kick off to this round is on Friday 9th May
Everyone reading this is welcome to enter this weekly competition which runs throughout the season.
New entrants are especially welcome
Whether you've taken part before or you fancy having a go this week for the first time you're guaranteed a warm welcome.
Entries are allowed each week up until the kick off of the first game in the round

ROUND 9 QUESTIONS:
*Poll Competition:
There were some big scores in Round 8
Let's look for the big scorers this week in our poll:

How many teams in Round 9 will score 30 or more points by full time?
- enter in the poll itself at the top and put your answer in your posting.

Now the main event of the week:

*Match tipping Competition:
Name the 8 (that's EIGHT) winning teams in NRL Round 9 2014

*Points Competition
How many points will be scored by all the teams added together in R9?
This is a competition in itself and will act as a tie breaker for the match tipping comp if necessary. This is used as the decider when necessary so do give it a go.

*Home Win Competition:
How many HOME wins will there be in NRL R9?
In rounds where the game is on the road and played at a neutral venue, the team named first in the fixture will be regarded as the home team for the purposes of this competition.

Fixtures:

Round092014NRL_zpsca9d4534.jpg

Animated awards will be given for the winner(s) of each competition question.
Match tipping scores will be added together as the season progresses to produce a Tipsters' Ladder which is pinned to the top of the forum topic list page

The best of luck to everyone.
Enjoy your Rugby League! B)

Well we're up[ and running, good luck everyone.

Tigers didn't really feature in that game. Both sides made handling errors but it was Roosters who made the most of their opportunities.

On a week when we are looking for big scores in our poll we certainly got a crop of them - more than any of us anticipated.

We've had five teams score more than 30 points this week with one more game to play.

Highest scoring team so far: Warriors with 54

We are also over 300 points in total already (328) -Simon predicted the highest points total for the weekend of 352.

328 points so far? I just need the Eels and Sharks to play out a 0-0 draw tomorrow and I've nailed it.  ;)

Match Tipping:
A general improvement this week!
Well done to our eight top scorers this week  Thirteenthman, Simon Kerr, Jim Bronco, Railway End, G Las D, Stoney100, Kiwityke and Southstander13   with a very good - and reassuring -  7/8
The tie breaker came into play. By this method of closest to points total prediction our Champ this week is Simon Kerr (-32)
Points Total 394 points easily the highest total for any round so far. Closest to this was Simon Kerr (-32 points)
The Home Win comp was won this week by  R L Winger who correctly predicted there'd be 5 home wins.
Our Poll Comp wasn't won again this week as nobody correctly predicted such a large number of teams scoring thirty or more points.

Animated awards will be presented to this week's winners as soon as I've been able to create them. The tipping comp ladder(s) will be updated likewise asap.
Our Round 10 tipping competition will be posted shortly.

Congratulations to our top scorers this week Thirteenthman, Simon Kerr, Jim Bronco, Railway End, G Las D, Stoney100, Kiwityke and Southstander13

Thanks to everyone who took part.
