As a topic hasn't yet been started, I thought I would do the honours.

Score predictions for the game?

I don't really want to put a score forward as it will only depress me!

But, mine is Dewsbury 16 Leigh 42.

Hope I am proven wrong.

Dewsbury 20 Leigh 30

My team would be:

1. Sheriff

2. Morton

3. Pryce

4. Grady

5. Scott

6. Hemingway

7. Thacks

8. Nash

9. Godwin

10. Dowes

11. Hale

12. Farrell

13. Spicer

14. Gallagher

15. Haggerty

16. Aizue

17. Hyde

Hard to leave Wright out, as he's a quality player, but think Hyde's utility value and ability to create opportunities edges it for him.

You have a big set and a small pitch, the poor weather will mean a tight close game imo that could go either way

Thought I would get my prediction in earlier than usual because I don't think the weather, the size of the pitch, or our team selection will make any difference whatsoever to the score. It will be Leigh all the way.

As for team selection, I reckon Tom's choice will be just about right, but if Pryce is injured I would place Scott in his proper position at centre and draft in Austin for a game; his seemingly unlikely inclusion would not have a bearing on the result.

Dewsbury 10 - 38.
First try scorer for Dewsbury: Grady.
Att: 1225 (would have been greater had we performed better recently).
Legs, Dews, Legs.

Tom - you can't seriously tell me that Haggerty, Nash and Dowes are more effective at breaking tackles than Hepworth (or Aizue when fit). Workhorses they might be - warhorses they ain't.

The poor weather might keep the score lower than a sunny day, but a comfortable Leigh win looks the only result.

I'd rest Hepworth for this one.

Better tacklers though GOR. Hepworth could do with a rest, he fell off too many tackles on Sunday. I reckon that Pryce won't play - he went off very early against Keighley with an ankle injury, i believe, that he has been carrying for a few weeks. I agree with CF that Scott might be better at centre - it will at least mean that he is supposed to be defending there this time. Is Austin up to it? Do we have anyone else to play on the wing?

Well lose but I hope that we don't go down without a battle. This means that the team need to show a bit more mettle than in previous defeats - a bit of mongrel, as the Aussies would say.

Rams 18 - 34 Lobbygobblers

Att 1300

First Rams try - Scott

As I shall miss this game I am confident that I won't win the HT draw.

Dewsbury 14 Leigh 13. " ................the game ended in bizarre style with literally 15 secs left on the clock, Leigh in front 13-12 after an error strewn game, were penalised directly under their own posts by Mr Merrick for feeding at the scrum.Tom Hemingway duly obliged with the winning 2 points by back heeling the ball right between the sticks".

First try scorer : Morton

Sorry Young Un but feeding is a differential penalty.

And there's no were near I'd play Greg Scott is defence is shocking for a winger never mind a centre.

I think when selecting the team, we have to try and predict who GM will select and if Pryce is out then a centre has to be picked and, like it or not, he is a centre. At least he won't have to move inside from his wing 'cos he'd be there already! Okay, Austin's inclusion is my choice, but who else would fit the position?
It matters not, Brierley will cut through the middle anyway.
Legs, Dews, Legs.

Like you say BSJ - I haven't been to any away fixtures yet this year, so I can't commentate on the relative tackling stints of individuals in every match. Given the way we threw the towel in against Keighley though, it doesn't sound like any of them covered themselves in glory in that department. That apart though, for us to have any chance against Leigh, the halfbacks will need to perform well, and to do that they have to be on the front foot, courtesy of some go forward from the pack. Haggerty, Nash and Dowes are unlikely to give us that go forward, nor do they have an offload game. Hope I'm wrong but it could be embarrassing.

I don't pick the team, GOR! Will leave that to GM...

Think Heppy's brilliant, but he's played every game so far this year include the whole pre-season and looked out on his feet by the end of the Keighley game.

There's more to forward play than breaking tackles. Dowes isn't a tackle buster and never has been, but he has an offload game and plays the ball quickly. Aizue's the hole-puncher, Haggerty's the enforcer, Gallagher's the ball handler and Nash makes the yards - a nice mix!

If the Dewsbury team that played Wigan and Batley turn up then it could be a lot closer than people think. However if the Dewsbury team of last week turns up then it could be a long afternoon. Having said that we seem to be able to stand up to the better sides at home so my prediction is.

Dewsbury 18  Leigh  30   First try scorer Morton   Attendance  1439
