There was once upon a time a land of plenty of banter ,until the big bad giant took away the passion and pride of the amateur game .

Will the little people ever be able to rescue them back from the big bad giant ?

Perhaps if they find a goose that will lay a golden egg they can manage without the few pieces of silver occasionally thrown their way by the big bad giant who takes all their offspring to the promised land after they have fledged.

No problems with anyone doing a U turn once they realise their error of judgement, In my eyes it's displaying strength, going to ground and hiding after realising their error is a sign of weakness.

Right back to work for me :)

Carlsberg don't do Soldiers, but if they did, they would probably be Brits.

Contrary to popular belief the Amateur game still has enough strong candidates to take the helm in the future and if necessary once again steer the good ship out of troubled waters.

No minesweepers required, no pirates or turncoats need apply, just honest sailors who know how to chart a course ;)

Son, I've made a life
Out of readin' people's faces
Knowin' what the cards were
By the way they held their eyes
So if you don't mind me sayin'
I can see you're out of aces
For a taste of your whiskey
I'll give you some advice  ;)

Welcome back Jim this is a banter / tongue in cheek thread .
Whilst you have been on a break people do not want to discuss important issues anymore they just want the craic .

I've heard two NCL Clubs have pulled out of the conference while I've been busy running around the country working :(

I wish BARLA would pull it's fingers out and offer the much talked about but not discussed traditional alternative.

On top of that as well, Stanningley giving Siddal the cup game and quite a few teams travelling short, postponed games at the youth and breaks for bank holidays, meaning some teams have played few games, a number of youth teams folding, the signing of the operational rules by BARLA??? (Any changes made?) and the RFL trying to introduce through the back door an Academy Performance System that could cripple the amateur game, the RU season has now finished so we may get some games out of the heartlands until it starts again
I don't think you have missed anything

You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em,

Know when to walk away and know when to run,

You never count your money, when you're sittin' at the table,

There'll be time enough for countin - when the dealin's done.
