....to lose 12-28 after what appears to have been a nightmare first half performance (0-22).  Pity no bonus point given that those around us have theirs, which may have been different had the try not been disallowed - wrongly apparently.  Why was Baines on kicking duty (according to the internet) - Crooks injured?  Tough time ahead, especially if injuries are mounting.

Hope we can now build on the second half performance and play for 80 minutes in our long away programme.

Baines stood in well for Crooky he has a good kicking anction not just a put it down and bung a leg at it.  The main point is that poor though it may seem we could have got a BP with a bit more application.

In the 1st half we bombed a couple of chances, score them and - well the game was wide open.  Throughout Hornets put in long spells of excellent defence but we had little ball and we wilted under the constant pressure.  More importantly we kept fighting to the end even though the cause was lost.

Pugwash.

Second try was a blinder, very unfortunate about the bonus point.Coudnt believe Wayne didnt touch down in the first half.Lewis thought he had scored and was right behind him.Dont know about Crooky.Bainsey had no problem kicking his 2..

Thought the ref was worse than last week.Nice to see Dave Lewellyn back.

A lot better in the second half. It was good to see Dave Llewellyn back. The second try showed that we are capable if we move the ball around and back up. I thought the referee was better than Jamie Bloem last week.

A long list of away matches lies ahead but we could get some points if we play to our potential.

Another frustrating day at the office. Truth is overall Fax weren't that much better than us once we started to play,  even if the1st half score suggests otherwise, there lies the frustration.

But taking nothing away from Fax they deserved the win, but we should have nailed a bonus point at least, we just started to play far too late again.

1st Half
The heavy HT defecit was as much down to our own inability to control the ball at key times, and when we did have it reverting to up the jumper 5 drives and a kick and not really giving Fax anything to think about.
We were also on the end of some tough ref calls which at times meant repeat after repeat set, against a side like Fax who have grand designs on making the promised land they piled forward at every opportunity but something had to give and it did, several times.

2nd Half

Much more like it from Hornets, we injected a bit of spark into attack and bite in defence, the ball was sparyed about and we actually troubled Fax quite a bit although insisted on constantly putting up the bomb on the last tackle towards the right side of the Fax posts, which were poor and made for easy pickings. Some good solid graft and attacking flare which all came too late to grab a bonus point. A try chalked out for off-side as a grubber from Casey, was touched down by Casey himeslf, quite how he could be off-side from his own kick through, I am really not sure?

All in all lots of positives with no lack of effort, defeat was as much down to our a lack of composure with and without the ball which is really frustrating because we all know what we are capable of now.

Although the ref was baffling at times (arent they always), no real howlers that changed the course of the game although the 2nd or 3rd man in, left hook to the head by the Fax No 8 was seen by everybody in the ground bar the whistler and his merry men. The smack was audible to everybody, bit nasty and not called for it just wasnt that type of afternoon.

Tough schedule of away games coming up, a couple of wins and bonus points will keep us in the hunt.

Come on lads!!!!!!!
