25 May KO:15:00 Championship 1 Rd: 10
York City Knights v Hunslet Hawks
Huntington Stadium

Ref: D Merrick

Looks like a big turnout coming from Hunslet so we need to turn out in force & get behind the lads, it's an 80 minute game, but we played some really good rugby for the last 55 minutes with very few interchanges left on a very hot day, possibly the best rugby of the season

All the 1st half slagging off from some fans seemed to disappear in the 2nd half so lets have some positive heads on for a change

Think we will be very limited by injuries, but it will be very interesting to see what team we put out....

Could anybody tell me what number bus and the timetable ? , and where to get from York Railway station ?  , or somewhere in the centre of York  ? to your stadium . Does a bus go from outside Stonebrow to the stadium? funny enough will be there Friday night at the Stonebrow so can check the timetables at the stops outside there in readiness for Sunday's big one.

On Sunday  Will be in York about 12.30 ,  hopefully.

Thanks for any info on this matter.

The No. 9 Park and Ride service runs every 10 mins to the ground. It starts from Rougier St which is 2/3 mins walk from the station and calls at Stonebow.

Sounds like we may be adding to our pack options & also maybe have a few more forwards available for Sunday, Patto maybe out for only 4 weeks which is good news, Jack Iley maybe out for the season which is bad news

Thanks for that player update. I'd been looking on the press for news but nothing was forthcoming. Wasn't expecting such a positive update on Patto so I'm pleased to hear that, he's been such a valuable player this season. Fingers crossed he will be flying for the play offs. A shame that Jack Iley has not got the same good news. Best wishes to him.

Not much on tv last night so I watched the 2005 season highlights dvd. That was a joy to watch , lots of lovely tries and a full popular stand. Those were the days.

I did the same a few weeks ago. One thing I did notice was the amount of times players celebrated their try by doing forward rolls as they touched the ball down etc.

How long are some of our young players contracted for. For example

Minikin

Ben Dent

Kriss Brining

Harry Carter

Adam Dent

Should really be getting these players contracted for the next few years and if a Super League club comes sniffing, let's get a bit of a fee off them instead of a reserve friendly match.

As has been said what a gem we have in Harry Carter. The hawkys couldn't handle him today.Mind you, dont think they could have handled a big mac if you put it in front of them. There again maybe Oakesy and Thomas Coyle would have snaffled half a dozen or so.What a liability Coyle was today.Fat overrated waste of space.Total disgrace today.

As for our guys, outstanding to a man.Brennan looks a good signing if we can keep him.Saltonstall,Reynolds,Pat Smith,Mallinder,Austin Bell was a real handful, and in Jack Lee,surely the best hooker in champ 1 if not the champ.Colton Roche looks as though he will be a good signing, once settled in properly.Joe Picketts started like a house on fire but faded a little, which was understandable.Just shows you what we can do when you get a ref that lets the game flow.Struggled against the likes of Hemel,London,Oxford as the play the ball was just so slow.Refs have to look at this big time.Doubt anything will happen though.

Must say that I thought the Ref had a good game today. Never let play be slowed down.

You won the penalty count by about 8 so no wonder you think he had a good game ;)

To be fair most of the penalties were just and when you win the ruck as easily as you did today you tend to win most of the penalties

Disappointed with the Hawks today , thought they might av made a game of it but soon as they got too far behind Mr Coyle tried to have a go at anything in a blue shirt , what a liability he is , they seem to be carrying a lot of old overweight journeymen , that said we didn't give them a sniff ! They were 2nd best at everything ! To say that was their full strength team I'd be a bit worried ! Thought our forwards outdid them in all depts today , Jack Lee ! What a player , consistently good every week , good job Minikin didn't play , he'd have had afield day out there , an almost complete performance !!!!!!
