Doncaster player coach Paul Cooke spoke to the Dons official website in the build up to Sunday’s clash with Rochdale Hornets.

The Dons are looking to get back to winning ways against the Hornets, following back to back defeats.

Cooke insisted his side need to turn in a good performance, insisting that home form will be crucial for the Dons if the club are to finish in the top eight.

He said: “There is pressure on us as a group to win the game, not from outside, but from within.

“Whoever takes to the field, has to play to the best of their ability, or again we will look at making changes.

“There is certainly a pressure from me and the rest of the players to perform well.

“We have got to win these games at home, whilst everybody else feels we should win the game, we certainly feel we should win the game ourselves

“However that is not a given by any means, Rochdale have had a good run and picked up some good results.

“We are at home against a team who will be in and around us in the table and it is certainly a massive game from us.”

Cooke also believes that the game plays a big significance in the Dons season, with it being the last home game until June 29th.

The Dons will play away from home in the next four weeks after the Rochdale match, making a victory in the game even more important.

Cooke said: “Its massive, we have been patchy away from home to say the least, we have lost a few and whilst at home we have lost only just once.

“The Rochdale game is huge for us because the pitch is being re-laid and we travel for a month.

"It is vital that we win this game and move on and look at teams after that.”
