Doncaster player coach Paul Cooke spoke to the official website after his side bounced back from back to back defeats with a 40-10 win against Rochdale Hornets.

The Dons moved back to third in the table with the victory and kept up the clubs impressive home record intact.

Cooke was delighted with the win and the performance of his players.

He said: “It was very pleasing after the last two losses, it was imperative that we got back on the winning run

“It was the first time we have lost two Championship matches in a row this season and today was massive for us, it was a big result.

“I thought the way the boys responded to what we asked them to do, in the first half was first half, we got to the areas and damaged them in the way we said we would.

“It was a really pleasing first 40 minutes and in the second half we did the job.

Over the past few weeks, the Dons head coach has insisted his side must improve their starts to matches.

The Dons responded today with two tries in the opening five minutes of the match and the Dons boss was happy with the results.

“We needed that start, we spoke as a group of players and staff this week about what was needed to start the game well,” said Cooke.

“We started the game really well and it is the standard we have not reached at home to Barrow and away to Whitehaven.

“Last week we started okay in the first ten minutes against Leigh, so it was really pleasing to start well and get some rewards at the end of it today."
