Remember the royal wedding tat thread on here? I thought we ought to start a 2014 world cup one.

Who can find the product most tenuously linked to the event, and/or the most useless tat?

I'll set the ball rolling (geddit?) with Aldi's "football sausages":

Rachel Stevens. Remember her? Oh, all right... well, here she is anyway, advertising 'Eau de Stade'.

Okay, I think this could be hard to top.

Lets hope that it doesn't reflect the smell of some of the toilets at our lovely old grounds.

I can do you a deal on flags, inflatable hands, table top flags, table cloth, car flag, 7m strip of bunting featuring all the countries flags, hats, bow ties and erm, well some other tat!  Its selling like hot cakes, I'm both surprised and disillusioned with the human race in equal measure!

I am surprised only that a man of your perspicacity is surprised by this.

I am definitely no more disillusioned than I have been for the last 20 - 30 years and I realise that that says quite a lot about me. :(

Nice, glad I checked the URL before clicking at work! Could have led to an awkward conversation with our IT guy.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Unfortunately I didn't take that precaution before I clicked on it. Site was blocked and I received an electronic ticking off for trying to access it. I think perhaps a NSFW warning may be appropriate? :(

Some people are going to feel incredibly silly after England (inevitably) crash and burn

I don't think your average soccer fan has that much dignity to be honest.

I do not think so.  In my lifetime, I cannot think of a single adult who thought England would win the world cup.  It is a daft old myth.

Its one of the major super markets as well, I forget which, either Asda or Tesco, one can only presume that the buyers at major retailers spend 1, maybe 2 seconds deciding on new lines!

Wow, sold out of the above pictured and rather naff table flag, slightly ataken back at how popular they were given, well, the picture speaks volumes!

Also out of England table cloths, been a big hit and nearly out of St George top hats!  Can't give car flags away though, they seemed destined for long term storage of landfill!

Initial analysis of sales data says the north of the country will be decked out in for more England Tat than the south of the country!
