I'm sure this will turn out to be a temporary blip for Fev.    Once the players gel together they will kick on again and keep hold of 2nd place.   Good craic with one or two Fev fans today who couldn't understand why Town had only won 3 games this season!!!!    We played today with a 16 man squad plus an injured player named as a sub to make the 17 up.    The left winger is the clubs fitness conditioner and had to play when another cried off at the last minute.    The last named sub has just come back home from university and hadn't played for many weeks.   Having said all that they played like a team with spirit and that is what won us the game.   Best of luck to Fev for the rest of the season.

I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimension, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave Hadfield - Independent 25th August 1996.

Looking in from outside it seemed that when you changed coaches after DP , he dismantled a winning side and seemed to want to make his own mark and be different and signed inferior players to the ones he let go ? Is that fair

Shades of Salford. Many signings but not a team. Also need a goalkicker in the side.

This.

We can kiss Superleague goodbye. We've got a supposed squad full of stars but the only problem is we have no team players. Today was sickening to say the least. I can't remember the last time we played that bad. 4 years of brilliance and effort only for the big drop for when it matters. My mate supports Leeds Rhinos and he said to me that Fev will never get to Superleague because of two reasons; Sacking Daryl Powell and trying to buy your way in, throwing money at players. Look at Salford, they have all that money and I don't see them doing anything.

Our squad gradually got weaker when the money men came in and the best coach went out. Fans are not to blame, there was a superb turn out today from Fev only to have their eyes bombarded with a right shower of ######. One man rugby WILL NEVER WORK and passing ball about with 10 minutes to go is a bit too late. Never to this day has a forward made a good coach but I suppose we will see in the long run (doubt it though we seem to be getting worse).

No passion, no aggression and no team spirit today. Nothing more to say.

you do know Peter Fox was a forward don't you?

. Never to this day has a forward made a good coach but I suppose we will see in the long run (doubt it though we seem to be getting worse).

No passion, no aggression and no team spirit today. Nothing more to say.

I like this, I really hope AH aint a forward thinker if you get my drift.

It's mad when I watch fev and I hear fans slating the players, we are suppose to support them not make them feel worse! Everybody booing Harry Seakja as he went to take the kick must have put him rate down hence why he seemed to kick it really quick.

I do not criticize the players on the day. I do criticize policies which appear to be incompatible to the club, ie; we are going to lavish money on SL stars and loan players. For four years we have been the leaders of this division. A settled, winning team, a top drawer coach a good backroom staff and within the space of a season we find that we have feet of clay. We have released top class players, for whatever reason and have been unable to replace their standards. We have good players on the park but I am convinced that there is an air of frustration and uncertainty amongst the team, which reflects in their performances.

We crossed their line seven times this afternoon as badly as some say we might have played. Only four counted unfortunately which was one more than they scored. It's going to take time and a bit of patience before this team hits it's straps I'm afraid. The quality is there, no doubt in my mind.

6 hour round trip and half a tank of diesel to watch that utter garbage!! Everyone connected to our club should be ashamed of themselves with that today

From the players - we will call them players as they are clearly not a team a team anymore, its just a team of individuals attempting to play in a team, no fluidity, no togetherness, no one has got a clue how to run a ball in anymore in the pack, Harry Seijka is by far the worst scrum half ive seen at Fev in a fair while, even people are asking when Moore is fit!! How much time did he have to knock over a DG at 14 all and proceeded to do the worlds worst fake DG attempt and run and got tackled! Unacceptable from a supposed leader round the pitch!

I was skeptical when he was brought in and made my feelings clear, only to be rebuffed and told to give him a chance, yet we see that today from him and i feel i am having the last laugh unfortuneatly because he should be no where near a fev shirt again for me and shipped back to wakey reserves,

Crookes is another one who is stealing a wing shirt from Etu, Mendeika, Blackmore or even Hellewell, his loan cannot end soon enough either

Whats also worrying me is at 14 - 14 workington were as cool as a cucumber, yet we were like rabbits in the headlights trying to score off every break, resulting in numerous poor and dropped ball, it almost looked inevitable what would happen and look what happened

We are simply a mess, a rudderless ship at the moment, no leaders, no one standing up to be counted

The coaches - last week we got away with naming no specialised hooker on the bench and Ellis was blowing like a cart horse after 12 hours in the rice fields last week, so why does AH proceed with the same plan today, in the hot dry sun? Well that clearly bit us in the backside today as we were snookered when Ellis went off injured, Flanagan is clearly not in favour with AH which i dont know why as i quite like Flanagan, but he wouldve had a field day today in that second half running at those tired Workington forwards, so i suggest to AH - if you read this, Flanagan will have to play next week cos of Ellis head injury, but please revert to two hookers in the team thank you

The BOD - quite simply, we need some answers to the long term future and quick, are the money men in or are they out because we cant move on at this present time

The opposistion - Whilst Workington were well worthy in their victory today, i have never seen a team roll about as much with ''injuries'' as i have witnessed today, the stoppages for workington injuries mustve been in the double figures and its a shame because i dont think they need that in their game - you can see why they have got BP in nearly every game because they work so hard for one another, i cant believe thats only 4 victories for them this season

But lets be honest, with the wage budgets and calibre of players of both teams, workington shouldve been nowhere near us today, yet they were the only one team today who showed heart, courage, aggression and that bit of extra skill when required, you could argue we dominated the seond half, but the final result doesnt lie

Roll on NW crusaders next week, a team who appear to be playing as bad as us, surely we cant drop points to them

I can't wait to see how we know we can play again. Sometimes, I let my feelings toward the club get the better of me and  I just get angry at everything. I don't know if anyone has the same feeling but when I see us playing very poor I get a sick feeling in my stomach. It's horrible it's like we've just lost a grand final when we play poor to me ha ha.

I'm still to be convinced - I don't think we're much, if any, better than we were on the opening day of the season despite all the recent supposed 'quality' signings.

I can't help feeling the Club has lost it's way, big style.

No apologies needed pal everyone has their own opinion mate, i agree with you on the loan players 100% as well. It tears our team apart and makes our original lads disheartend.

Bussey is about the only one. There are several knocking around other teams, who are playing well such as Dave Scott and Thomas Carr, there'll be others that I can't bring to mind.

We also are missing a spearhead Stuart Dickens figure, you don't replace 14 years of prop forward/ captaincy experience and you leave a huge hole.

Dane Manning's suspension has had an indirect input on Rovers solving my latter point.

Stuart Dickens, what a player he was. We definately need a leader like that on the field. He used to kick everybodies ass into gear.

we   badly   need   a  proper   scrum   half  to   dictate   play   and   move   players   round  the   field, also   a   ball   handling   forward   with   a   football   brain  to   give   more   structure  in  attack .most   of  todays   players  dont   think  for   themselves   and   the   team, they   just   go   through   the   pack   drill   done   during   training.lets   have   players   breaking   the   line  looking  to  release  the   ball   and   teamates   reading   whats   infront   of   them   and   backing   up   the   ball   carrier.go   back   to   simple   basic   rugby  with  the   odd  wild   card   move   thrown  in   when   required.as   for   giving   young   players   a  chance  i   agree  with   the   post   above.any  young   player   who  really   wants   to   play   proffesional   rugby   league   should   be   able   to   perform   in  the   championship .
