I may of missed a thread but has anyone seen what he has been charged for.

A grade E offence for making contact with an official. Chasing a kick through on a wet pitch and was unable to stop himself making contact with the official.

If he gets 4-8 games that is shocking.

If Hock was chasing a kick through then the referee should not have got himself in the way. They are paid to stay clear of players not obstruct them.
Thomason was in charge, a very inexpeienced SL referee and may well have got himself in a mess.
If true then Hock's going to cop a substantial ban having previous for this offence.

Has anyone got a clip of this?

If he'd made contact with a player in the same way it would be a penalty for a shoulder charge. Absolutely awful. Can't see anything other than an 8 match ban

What do you want him to do tackle the official? It was a soaking wet pitch it's impossible to stop on a soaking wet pitch.

Have you seen it? Probably better off waiting to see what happened before judging either way.

I watched it on SL full time they highlighted it. I recall Hock getting done for the same thing against Workington and nobody saw it, do you recall?

I suggest you watch it again it was the referee on the try line (in goal ref was to left of posts)

He made no attempt to miss the referee, having previously been warned about this you'd think he'd make every effort to avoid contact

Yeah, the one at Workington didn't look like much on the day. Certainly didn't look intentional.

Yep and copped him a 5 match ban. You'd think that'd make him avoid such incidents again in the future

He should have intended to try and avoid the referee, he didn't

How do you stop yourself on a wet pitch? Have you ever done it? It's impossible.

Just seen it, he makes no effort whatsoever to stop, he just puts his shoulder into him. Looks pretty bad, but what's new with this player.

To understand why he did what he did, we'd have to get into Hock's brain.

Who among us can say we're willing to diet that much?

It's not about stopping momentum. It's about where that momentum is going. He knows from experience that coming into contact with the referee could result in missing games. He made no attempt to direct himself away, but does manage to drop his shoulder to put the ref on his ###### and keep himself on his feet. That's the issue the lack of effort to avoid contact, which he had time and space to do
