Couple of titbits in the RLE today . PV saying only Carter , Callum and Karl are holding out on contract offers - and have until Friday to accept . Miller expected to sign . Paper also said we're one of the clubs trying to sign Ryan Millard.

Big Alex must be signed up as well, excellent base to build from next year. If we can get the other 3 signed up then we've got a good head start for off season recruitment.

League Weekly also adds young Lucock and Big Callum to the others still to sign.    They also have Whitehaven down as one of the clubs interested in Ryan Millard but don't mention Town!!!!

I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimension, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave Hadfield - Independent 25th August 1996.

Shacks and Coward among others were being chased by Haven. Coward has signed and Shacks has shook hands on a new contract with Town so Cotter was unsuccessful.
The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but thats the way to bet!
