Jim, what would the "Sheffield" team be? Pre Hillsborough, isnt it?

It was Dave and they played in the Hillsborough area and played in Red and White broad hoops with black shorts and socks, I remember the last time we played them in Sheffield, we lent them a player and when they asked him where he played he said "Captain"

There was also a Sheffield Concorde side around just before the draw date as well.

You learn something everyday!

I knew about Concorde, that lasted for some time. Concorde still has a leisure centre there, I guess it was same site if not same facility.

That Chesterfield team was the precursor of the Shirebrook side of 1984 onwards. They briefly ran some juniors too - there is a report of a battering the U15s took at Upton.

If my memory is right I think Chesterfield also played at the school in Staveley (Or should I say the school there looks like where they played)

No I can't mate, was that after Stuart Sheard instigated the break away from the Doncaster and District to form the SW Yorkshire district after Donny teams decided to stop with the West Yorkshire Sunday League by voting against forming a South Yorkshire Sunday league (Look who employs and what Stuart is doing these days & we talk about self empires within BARLA)

Is that split in the district league why some of the SW Yorkshire sides played in the Mansfield and Nottingham league for a bit?

I don't think so but could have been, Bentley Yarborough played down there for a season or two, It looks like it coincides with many of the SWY sides moving to the Pennine, not sure but it's a good example on how one man can influence a group. (AKA NWC & NCL)

I, had a contact for Mosborough back in 2003 but they had gone to Rugby Union when I got in touch and that club is still in existence, quite big too.

Rossington Hornets who where a very good  amateur team in their day has been a union side for a few years now, this however wasn't a league team going to union, it was union players breaking away from Doncaster Knights and moving into the ex Rossington Hornets nest and simply taking over their name as well.

There's been a reshuffle. East Hull are in the Championship leaving a 9 team premier division and a few other changes lower down

We had fifty three players playing in a friendly on Sunday morning (11.30am Kick-Off), shame we couldn't keep them all for our regular season :( I'm sure we would have made a very good championship side, but with trouble at t` mill we'll have to rebuild with a bunch of young lads who seem to be growing a bigger pair with every game.  (Don't the young lads seem small these days)

So the season doesn't start this week for the premier? I read the new report on the website stating fixtures out next week and the season starts on the 20th but i thought that was relating to division 6 east and and 6 west.

If the tables on the Pennine league website are correct West Bowling have pulled out of the premier division (leaving it as an 8 team ex Yorkshire League division and them in division 4) and East Hull have pulled out of the Championship

Actually changed a lot. Keighley & Silsden have folded leaving 2 division 6 west clubs as the only winter sides in Keighley and West Bowling are in the Championship.

Have Wests lost their coach who brought in a lot of academy players a couple of seasons ago?
