Perhaps the RL should properly use the match commissioner, pre match let him have a up to date list of players eligible to play in the match he is officiating at. All he needs to do is compare the team sheet with the players registered to the clubs participating and advise accordingly not exactly rocket science and would stop this problem.

Sorry Ernie but that is just transferring the responsibility away from the clubs. They are all professional businesses which should be run in a professional manner.

Do not agree if the system used has not worked then make changes, not a lot to ask for the match commissionaire to have a list of players that are registered with both the clubs involved in the match they are officiating at. The Rugby League are a professional business with a lot more staff than the clubs if minor changes eradicate the problem why not go with it.

Sorry but the club's are responsible for who they play,it was documented about the rules before the deadline I.e at least 3games or 20k or under end of!!!

More than a few fans flagged up their concerns over Fairbank's eligibility (or lack of it) well before the Sheffield game.
When fans know the rules whilst those in charge of the club do not, then you have to seriously question our competence behind the scenes.

So because it was well documented the system cannot be improved? Surely a minor tweak to the system stopping clubs fielding eligible players (Halifax, Batley, Doncaster) would be worth while.

It would of kept Halifax in the cup and saved Batley & Doncaster losing points.

I didn't say it couldn't be improved, but the onus should be on the club's & not the officials, come on you've got a man that's been coaching at a very high level throughout his career y9ur not telling me he didn't know!!plus a chairman that's been at the helm long enough to know. Theirs only one way to sort it get it scrapped because all it does his benefit the super league clubs!!

Come on SB, it really hasn't though, has it? Last season we benefited very nicely from DR, using Mullally and Fairbank on a consistent basis and reaching the GF in the process.
In reality we've destroyed ourselves - firstly by being stupid enough to place a naive reliance in DR by making the decision to only sign 20 players on at the start of the season, and secondly by using an ineligible player when we should have read the rule book on DR.
Dual Registration hasn't negatively affected any clubs other than Batley, and quite frankly it's all our own fault.

Why should it get the Match Commisioner's job? Why can't clubs manage their own affairs?
