i think carvel will have a bit left but wouldent swop him for lillycrop thats for sure, and the lad thackery will end up going places and nicked from fevs doorstep so no swet, some players think its an easy step down from super dooper league pace and workrate, but a lot a players over the years have found out we play it just as hard down the ladder a step or two, had rather see a fev v leigh game than leeds v bradford any day a the week, fozzy dident last long at dews thats for sure.. :bb:

Very harsh on Nick Fozzard. He suffered a bad shoulder injury that would have put him out for nine months. He could have sat out the rest of his contract and got paid to sit in the stands but he agreed to tear it up and let the club sign someone else.

Carvell and Wood will be very good players for Featherstone in the Championship. It's great that the competition is attracting this calibre of player.

Fozzard is ex shaw cross but why should we be thankful for dried up ex internationals dropping down for a last ditch season.

Nick fozzard had more bandaging than tuton karmoon!

Carvel was offered and a temporary replacement for keegan was considered. These high profiles out price themself until a rich club flex their wallet

so he found it hard then.dont get me wrong you couldent get a better sight than fozzy or barry mac at full chat, first time i seen young walmsley you knew he were going places and these are the players we should be able to hang on to rather than those who are ready to hang up their boots. :bb:

So just how long did you hang on to him then?

Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.

You obviously didn't see Paul wood against the bulldogs tom, you wouldn't have noticed him he was a nonentity, suppose there will be games when he'll step up to the plate but on the evidence of that game I'm sure he's on more money than he's worth and I'm sure carvel will be a similar case nobody really wants him Warrington, hull and cas are proof of that two men living on their reputation

We will see reg time will tell but to single out wood from that friendly performance is a bit OTT IMO as none of them turned up and probably didnt want to be their. Friendlies mean nothing to me you could of won 100-0 and I wouldn't of blinked twice reg. when it matters week in week out I'm sure wood carvell etc will show you otherwise but until the season gets properly underway we don't know anything. One thing I am very confident of though is we will finish at least 4th I'm in no doubt about that and I doubt batley will finish above us so like I say friendlies mean nothing. Look at last season we put wakey and hull right to the sword in friendlies and we didn't win the league by a cantor like most thought we would after those friendlies. I'm not saying wood and carvell are world beaters either but they are in a good team and I'm fairly confident their still too good for championship level but like I say time will tell.

Long enough to get a nice 5 figure sum from saints with numerous add on"s .

We don't pay transfer fees at batley we just take them in .

Have you ever got over paying a fee to Hunslet for Ayden faal

We didn't actually pay a transfer fee but as he was awaiting a hernia open so we ended up paying for that. Then he jumped ship after we stood by him through all the trouble he had off the fields, good riddance for me,not missed on or off the field!!!

do you know what gaz fella,a few people seemed to think fev played rubbish and they dident try but maybe give us a little credit were its due, have a ganders at dvd and  am sure your players did turn up,we were great in defence and played some top rugby, ref givs you 5 fresh sets in first 15 minutes for so called nicking ball when infact the ball were coming out on impact, have a look at the amount a times gaz moore is sat on his rear when trying to put some move on,that long range try we had uphill would a been on news at ten if it were rhinos,i know like you say they mean nowt until season starts propper but to us dogs fans it were massive and a lot better than this time last year. am sure once a few games are under yer belts you will be up amongst the top 2 but lets not beat on about fev not trying as the lads looked to be trying hard to me,all the best. :bb:

Singled out wood gaz because of his reputation, always admired him at Warrington and expected much from him , to say your team weren't interested is a bit of an insult to you fans but I dont think that was the case I don't think they expected Batley to show the intensity they did and in my opinion that's what they couldn't handle on another day things could be different but players go out to win games friendly, warm up game call it what you want on the day they were well beaten

Guys I'm not taking anything away from your performance against us as you definitely deserved it on the day I just feel alot of our players didnt turn up that day for whatever reason. And yes your last try was amazing no doubt about that it was a very good try. I'm just saying friendlies are meaningless and for some reason season pros don't take them seriously at all.Its mainly for kids who want to impress or new mediocre signings who want to put their name down to be in the starting 17. As for Gaz Moore no comment as people who know me know what i think of him along with the other tosh bastian brought in and if the rumours are true he could be leaving us shortly anyway. My comment was aimed at the one about wood/carvell being past it I personally don't think they are along with Sykes. All 3 IMO could still play SL rugby but time will tell I guess. As for the top 2 comment it will be very hard for us to make the top 2 I reckon going against FT teams but I don't think 3rd is un achievable. About the funds comment we deserved the extra funding for finishing second so I don't get that comment if you guys had finished second you would deserve it. You know you are my second favourite team so no sour grapes from me at all I just feel we didn't seem interested or wanted to be their that's all but that's just my opinion. But when the league game comes around I maybe will have to eat humble pie if you beat us in one of the 2 games.

I agree. You did deserve more money than us for finishing second. I'm just not sure that you deserved nearly £250'000 more than us for finishing second. Not that it's your clubs fault, that's what was on offer.

Unfortunately, the disparity in prize money has only augmented the financial void between the top four clubs and the rest of the league that already existed before 2015.

I'd suggest that a more even share of the spoils would have strengthened the league and made it even more competitive. As it is, we've now almost got two leagues in one - the 'haves', and the 'have nots'.

I couldn't agree more it should be shared out evenly or at least a lot more evenly. But as long as we have a SL their will always be greed from the SL clubs and we will always get their scraps I'm afraid unless we can break into SL somehow which under this new system is going to be very hard. The RFL IMO have said here's your strawberries you've been complaing enough we will give you P&R back but in the other hand saying well we don't really want you their so we will make it as hard as we can and taking back the strawberries with the other hand. The clubs that remain in SL now get a higher share of the pot too so why they were humming and r'ing about reintroducing P&R I don't know unless some were scared they would drop out but under this new system if I were a SL club their would be no need to worry IMO as they have nearly an extra million salary cap than us (800k to be exact) so if a SL club does get relegated they deserve to IMO with all that extra cap and funding they have. I personally don't see any movement between the leagues (maybe wakey but that's only because they haven't spent the full cap like the rest in SL) for a long time if I'm being honest but I would gladly like to be proven wrong. But then if I am I can only see the middle 8 being the same teams every season anyway (unless batley dews etc find a millionaire from somewhere lol). so surely that will get boring after time but we will see.

Agree Gaz with your comments, its just we havent played like that for a while and to beat Fev as easily as we did, well were bound to be cock a hoop !!!!

Definately Fev will be top four and I think Carvell, Sykes and Wood will have a big part to play this season

Difficult to predict our position, hope we havent peaked to early. I predict Dewsbury will be a force this season especially at their home ground.

Good luck except when you play us of course !!!!
