It may hold surface water on occasions , but our pitch never looks like that when we play

yes that's what I thought dave. A few of our friends up the road poked fun at our drainage problem but DP wasn't as bad as that.

Just watched the highlights from Sheffield's last couple of games, the 5 tries against haven were all from kicks and 5 out of the 8 against the Bronco's were from kicks, lesson to be learned for our next home game. I couldn't believe the state of the pitch at the wreck, I know they poke fun at our drainage problems but ours looked like a billiard table yesterday compared to that  . After watching Sheffield against the Bronco's and looking at the Bulls result against Fev, it would appear that haven have been very fortunate playing both these sides in awful conditions  ;)

thought cooke was a disgrace yesterday , kept lambasting his players for not playing the ball correctly , knocking on , missing tackles .....should keep that in the dressing room , and not on the pitch in full public view .

Couldnt make out the DFS sofa in the Bells End !!!!, thought £££££ had been spent on the ground, and I think someones been driving a JCB on the pitch, that was bad, someones been taking the --ss their I think ;)

Looking at the highlights on the sheffield page I think it's about time they took leprori out of the team .

Looking at the highlights I think Lepori is carrying the can for them losing but apart from the first try I think they are being very hard on the lad.    When they kicked for the 2nd try there wasn't another Haven player within 15 yards of the lad and he was effectively marking 3 Eagles players.   The next try he failed to tackle Menzie Yere and there are many other players who can tell that story over a number of years as he is a hard man to stop but number 15 didn't rush to help him out.

In the second half a kick went over Declan Hulme's head and bounced between Hulme and Lepori and it bounced at an angle away from Lepori straight to the Eagles winger.   That was more to do with the state of the pitch than anything Lepori did wrong.  The last try couldn't be blamed on Lepori as he was marking his opposite player a couple of metres or more away from where the kick came from and Grant Gore (No.7) should have put his boot to it but failed.

I don't know what Lepori did in the rest of the game but as I see it he could only be at fault for 1 or possibly 2 of the tries.

I remember when .............................

"It is impossible not to feel a twinge of sympathy for Workington Town, the fall guys this season for the Super League's determination to retain it's European dimension, in the shape of Paris. While the French have had every assistance to survive, the importance of having a flagship in a heartland area like West Cumbria has been conveniently forgotten." - Dave Hadfield - Independent 25th August 1996.

real pity isn't it , after being told he couldn't go on loan and then ending up being told to go there to stay match fit ???

. hope the kid gets his chance at Widnes this year and your neighbours go down as you guys push top six  ;)

I'm sure they'd welcome Declan back at Town given any encouragement Wonder. Competition for places is much tougher now and it's no definite starting place. But Declan never let Town down and I'm sure he'd bring something to the table. Solid as a rock at centre, in fact I can't I can't remember him having a bad game in a Town shirt.

Seems you have ruffled the feathers of our jam loving neighbours over on deluded.com and have a thread dedicated all to yourself

Especially once we worked out he is a centre, looked a much improved player last year and seems to enjoy playing for town

Let's be honest about Haven , I support them . I don't want the majority of my team made up from dual reg players ,I want to see local lads playing ,with a little mixture of Dual reg players . I am under no illusions that Haven will really struggle to survive in this league . Every season it's the same thing at Haven , we sign a lot of new players , it would not be that bad if they were local lads , but they are not. Look at Town they keep a settled team , a few new lads , that's how a team should go about it . You can understand local talent not wanting to sign for us , what's the incentive for them , I can see none at all . The young lad on the wing should not be made to shoulder all the blame for the loss on Sunday ,I really feel sorry for the lad , it's a team game and other players were equally to blame for their mistakes .

The successful policy from a few years ago of signing the top local talent from the likes of Wath brow and Kells made sure Whitehaven had a decent competitive team in this league. So it beggars belief as to why they've gone down the road they have. They've alienated a lot of supporters and potential local signings that's for sure.

Terry you are absolutely right what you have posted. I have no problems with Town and good luck to them this season , please don't laugh , but I would dearly like to beat Town sometime this season, we can all dream I suppose :) .

All things Widnes and wonder is in the know. Maybe the realisation that the Widnes lads would rather be somewhere else is the straw that broke the camels back.

and a good few things Wigan & Warrington ; - although I'm sure the only place I said the lad would want to be is in a Widnes shirt . Someone please send me a link to their forum so I can have a gander. Dec will give his all no matter where and his dad will kill me if he see this -

Beware the dark side Wonder, many a man has inquisitively visited the site of seething resentment and lost his soul. :rtfm:

Posting anything on there that they don't like is the equivalent of having a full on protest and party in the main square outside the presidential palace in North Korea whilst they are parading their tanks! Beware.......
