Sheffield Eagles chasing Greg Inglis

Recommended Posts

Maybe it won't be Sheffield but I do think GI would be a good target for SL clubs when his current Souths deal is up, The Bloke is the ultimate professional & unlike all the defectors undermining our sport at the moment GI just loves RL. I think if a Leeds or Wigan offered him a long term deal on good money you just never know what mite happen.

If he signed for Trinity, would they rename the fanzine? ;)

Love the quote from Bath.. failed to mention it is the most boring place to live in England, and quite possibly Europe!

GI's agent doing a grand job of trying to push his price up.

Nice bit of PR for the club! Though the club are probably in far better health financially compared to many Super League clubs, especially with the new benefactor throwing millions into the new ground to get it built.

why dont they just give andy farrell his medal now?- ray french before the challenge cup final 1998

The ground won't be an asset of Sheffield Eagles though will it? Isn't it a community stadium?

Salford and Sheffield are similar enough for Aussie journalists to get confused I guess. Anyway, even that hypothetical $1.5m Toulon contract is probably smaller than what Inglis can get in the NRL.

Nope, the Aussies aren't confused between Salford and Sheffield. But they keep insisting that Sheffield is a Super League club.

The 24 hour Fox Sport News channel has just shown its presenter talking to one if its reporters who is the UK and the reporter has spoken to Ken Jones the Eagles CEO who stated that they are interested in signing Inglis.

Hi Jamie,

Whose this new benefactor? What's his commitment to the club?? I'd be interested to know if you would be kind enough to enlighten me!!

I'm not Jamie!

A new guy has come onto the board, the stadium needed about 4 million from the club to get it built, which he has put in. The guy is staying in the background for now so only people close to the board know who he is, though a few of the fans have an idea who it is - fair to say the ground wouldn't have happened without the private money. The Olympic Legacy Park is basically open to all sports, provided you put the cash in!

I do apologise Brummie, thanks for the information.

£4,000,000 just like that????

Doesn't that blow the good Dr. Koukash's efforts away??
