So I have come away with just one question why isn't Farrel playing every week,as the Radio Leeds team said "Joel Farrel didn't look out of place with the super league players"

Spot on. Rams man of the match by a mile. GM must see things we don't.

Ryan Wright had good game too. Told you we weren't short of hookers!

Nobody played badly to be honest and even young Forsyth pulled off some cracking tackles.

Mikale awesome. Just keeps going.

Thought Farrell was outstanding, Makali as good as ever and Haggerty second spell was very good. Forsyth excellent at full back, overall showed plenty of spirit and finished well again. And Dalton Grant showed up well, looked dangerous, Wright was busy at hooker and Delaney looks like he is a good prospect.

Good job Bridge was off form with his kicking. Anthony England looked sharp.

An attendance of 1700 plus Dewsburys total disregard for the competition with the team selection and decision to kick for 2 points on 75 mins at 50 odd down shows the Challenge cup is not what it use to be, a shame really but times change..

Hopefully we will beat Sheffield and Batley in next 2 games..

I will probably give the challenge cup games s miss next year.

Good post Rambo. The lads on the field gave 100% but it might just be easier if we don't enter the competition next time and save everyone the bother.

The decision by RL to place fixtures this weekend meaning games would be postponed didn't help but boy, the feeling around this match compared to last years against Wigan was completely different. Why should anyone buy tickets next time?

I agree Nick, I'm not knocking the effort at all. Some excellent performances from Farrell and Delaney amongst others.

It was a bit of a non event for me as Morisson just sent a team out just to keep the score down.

I've no problem with us getting beat but would have liked to see us put our best available team out.

Nick and Rambo, it was a game we were never going to win and thought the mixture of "seasoned" and reserve players worked well. We went down heavily to a side which ran forcefully and had bullet like passing, but we showed we can play too. I have to wonder if a couple of their tries were from classic SL forward passes and the commentator on Radio Leeds thought that Penny had a foot in touch in goal when he got his second try.

We all appreciated the performances of Forsyth, Dunn, Glover, Delaney and Farrell, with none of them failing. I also though McLocklan had a good game.

I don't think Morrison devalued the cup tie and he surely has to have the league as a priority.

There were 30 seconds left on the unofficial scoreboard clock when we kicked for goal - I don't know where you get your 75 minutes from.

The team selection was pragmatic - we were never in with a chance of causing an upset; a lot of players have been carrying niggling injuries; the games against Sheffield and Batley are far more important than this one; and the importance of the CC was reflected in the attendance, which was the most disappointing element of the night.

The performance by a number of these players was very encouraging and should give many of us an incentive to attend a few second team games to watch their further development: lots of potential for the future there.

Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.

I think we all agree that we did the right thing. But I think too that any of us could legitimately not bother attending any similar fixture next year. You can't have it both ways.

Just as debatable is why the RL put fixtures in the calendar for the cup weekend ( is it them that have devalued the competition?) and just as intriguingly why we happen to playing the rearranged game as early as this Tuesday? It's just putting pressure on us that we don't need. If we win Tuesday, great but the priority for me is beating the Cheaters next Sunday. You can rest all the team Tuesday as long as we do this.

Last year we faced Wigan in the Challenge Cup and Glenn selected a full-strength team - because we didn't have a crucial league game in midweek.

This year we face Warrington in the Challenge Cup and Glenn rested key players - because we have a crucial league game in midweek.

Disappointing crowd on a nice night - wonder how many we would have had on a Sunday. As for the situation re Sheffield - that must be down to the RFL allowing the little fat manipulator to leave fixtures marked TBA until the date suits him.

I don't think there was anybody on the field who looked to be struggling.

Will, Brad, Sam and James all did really well, I thought, and will undoubtedly benefit from the experience. Hopefully they can continue to improve in the Reserves in the weeks ahead, and maybe even be ready to make the step up in the years ahead (who knows!).

Joel Farrell was outstanding again and I thought his discipline was much better, too - although my dad reckons he gave away three penalties? I don't remember seeing any.

Toby was excellent again too and I find it amazing that he hasn't picked up a Man of the Match award yet. He's consistently in our top three and is already a decent shout for player of the year in my opinion.

I think the difference between the two teams was Warrington's ability to punish a scrambling defence. Their forwards made quick yards before the collision and then played the ball quickly, allowing their halves and threequarters to make more inroads before we were set.

I don't think we got the rub of the green at a few moments. I'm obviously extremely biased towards my own team, but I think Joel was unlucky to have his try disallowed (he was adamant he'd grounded it after the game), and I'd say two of their tries came from forward passes. Oh, and Penny's feet were in touch for his second!

Despite the much publicised 'weakening' of the team, we kept the margin smaller than it was against Wigan last year, when we played a full strength team (and lost Aaron Brown for the season).

It's true that we got a better scoreline than last year, but the difference being that this year we were well and truly put to bed very early in the game, whereas when we played Wigan we got our fire extinguished late in the game.

Also worth noting was the difference between the build up of the two games.

Last year you could feel the excitement slowly rising, as the game was approaching, and when game day finally arrived, it felt very special being inside the ground sampling the atmosphere.

Contrast that to last night's game, and there seamed to be very little build up beforehand, plus, something felt like it was missing buzz wise inside the ground.

I know that when Glenn got the job of coach, one of the things that tipped it for him was that he was going to be involved in the commercial side of running the club. Then, not long after, his wife came on board too. I wonder how much work was put in by them two for last night's game considering that we were massively outnumbered by the Warrington fans, who had to travel the M62 on a Friday teatime to get to the game ( well done from me for that effort by the way).

It's obvious that coach Morrison has got his sights on the league, and disrespected the cup (cheers Glenn, that cost me 17 quid) so that we've got a better chance of achieving something, thus raising his own stock value for when a bigger job becomes available.

Good post Lupset Ram.

I think Glenn has attracted some good players to the club. Whether this is purely down to his man management or the wages the club is now paying is another matter - probably a bit of both.

If Glenn gets us into the top 4 he will have done really well, if we finish 5th or 6th it will still be regarded as a good season and his own personal stock will have risen - perhaps earning him a shot at coaching someone like Wakey/Bradford or another lower end SL side.

I think he got away with it last night. If Warrington had put a record score against us then the feeling maybe different.

What you can't argue with is that the club and team is in a far better position that it was under Warren Jowitt.
