Venus and Jupiter

Recommended Posts

If you look in the sky now ( and about this time for the next couple of nights) you will see Venus with Jupiter seemingly very close just behind. They are low in the Western sky now.

Have just got back from Crete and Venus and Jupiter were extremely bright and fairly close, they really did stand out in the night sky.

Bloody hell, pretty flash trip.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

I had no idea Crete was that far away.

No wonder tonyxiii looks spaced out whenever I meet him.

Actually, I look "spaced out" because I'm trying to work out Iestyn Harris' selection policy.

Either that, or it's the wine?

If you haven't a clue what you're looking at, try googling "earthsky.org". There is a nightly picture of the planets to help you. I found the site about ten days ago when I spotted three objects in a line (that wasn't the wine!) and only knew that one was Venus. The others turned out to be Jupiter and the star Regulus. We get a really clear view from "our" seat in the village square, opposite the taverna which supplies the wine. :good:

And here in California I missed out as a cloud was in the way.

A cloud is almost as rare a sight.
